cross country travel?
I know a few of you have done this recently. I've been out of the country working for the last month. Probably have to drive east coast to Colorado
soon. Might be from Tennessee to CO (through Kansas City), maybe NYC to CO (through Clevo, it seems). Any ideas/suggestions for ways to break up the
21+ hour trip? Anyone want to put up a Thorpster for a night?

I did the cross country move with the family last summer....
and it ruled...
I love long drives... and there is some really pretty stuff to look at out there
avoid the south and the plains as much as possible...
it's pretty damn flat and boring....
but through any mountain ranges you'll see some amazing sites

thanks, steve. anything in particular that's worth seeing? after this, i'm going overseas for at least a year (and if voodoo and joe remember old
u2u's, my plans have changed a bit). so, this is the first and last chance to see the midwest and west coast for a while. i'm tempted to go to LA
and visit an old friend, but that's another 12-16 hours away, so i might pass on that. is it worth it to go see things like mt rushmore, or is it
better to just go through the natural scenery more?
funny thing about you responding first is that i was also tempted to send a u2u to see if you need some short-term help with the business on the east
coast, since you've voiced some complaints in the past. hope things are working out for you a little better now.

man I don't have anything specific to see...
I just like anything that isn't flat...(insert boob joke here)
as for helping at the shop, we are set on the east coast, but I might be looking for some west coast people soon...
enjoy being over seaseas though, I'd love to get out of the states for a while...
just refresh my perspective again....
and yeah I never sleep so I'm one of few late nighters

glad to hear everything is going well on the east coast... i seem to recall a few times when you've posted about having to fly back and fix shit on
short notice.
at this point, i've been so anal retentive on always making plans for life that it's been a bit unnerving but overall pretty damn nice to take things
as they happen. i just taught for a month overseas, and that happened on about 3 weeks notice. during that time, i got the chance to study in europe
for year starting in september. so, maybe always being prepared isn't such a good thing, 'cause i saw none of this coming.
and steve, it's only 12:15 your time... that's not late. well, aside from the fact that you're married with kids.

actually I am in PA leaving today for LA again..
I had a huge rush order for the lizzie borden museum...
I did get my quoter working on pc but haven't bought the hand held yet...
I was just getting ahead of myself a little...
studying abroad would be rad
I was supposed to do an exchange program in H.S. but it didn't work out...
have fun with it man

You know. I just made this drive two weeks ago. The plains states are boring until you hit like the western border of South Dakota and get into the
Black Hills and Indian land. Cool stuff there. Plus, the Badlands. But that's pretty far north from where you're heading. So I dunno what to tell ya.
Stopping to camp is cool if you can. I wouldn't rush myself unless you have to though. You might want to just hang out in cool places for a while.

My plans are pretty wide open. My brother needs a car and I'll be away for a year, so I'm driving out there to drop the car off at his place. I
think I've suckered someone else into going, so it's becoming a real road trip instead of just a straight drive out there... so keep the suggestions
coming! I should have time to actually enjoy this.

I love road trips. I've never driven from the east to the west, but think it'd be a blast. Just take your time, don't be afraid to stop if you're not
in a rush. My last road trip was to Maryland (I'm in MA), we lost an hour or two in Connecticut searching and going to a porn store.
Also, don't ask for directions ever, getting lost is half the fun.

I'd be all over it, but The wife and i are staying with my father until I finish school. We sold our house last summer and cut back on alot of things.
My Father would not be to into having anyone over.
It would be kick ass to meet any of THORP REGULARS some day.
