aSelling my records... opinion.
Have any of you sold your records and regretted it?
I am sick of moving them around, I listen to MP3's now and never bust them out. I have some debt I want to get rid of and selling them would help.

There's a few I have regretted selling over the years, partcularly a mint condition, first press Misfits "Buuet" 7". When considering selling, I just
look at them and decide which ones I know I can't bear to part with, ie: anything Sheer Terror. If I consider parting with something then it's
something I won't regret selling later. If that helps.

i have regretting selling some of them, but im kinda in the same boat as you, i never put them on the turntable, like years since i have. i sold a
bunch a few years ago, i'm probably going to get rid of a bunch more at some point. and just keep the ones i really want to keep, just to have.

I didn't sell any but a ton were destroyed in my parents house after a flood in the basement.
I understand debt though, sometimes it's the only way to get back on your feet. I did it with comics and I still regret a few of them.

I regret selling all the music stuff I ever sold.
then again I'd need a third bedroom in my apartment if i still had the stuff.
i needed money at the time for stuff i thought was important, but it was a crock of shit and i shoulda held onto the stuff.

IF you have any SOIA then sell it to me. I will pay. If you don't then keep them. You'll regret it.

scott - i don't know if this is accurate or not, but it sounds like you're hesitant to break up the collection. don't be. you know there are records
in there you don't need. hell, maybe some you don't even want. go through em all, keep your favorites, and unload the rest. you'll have a stronger
collection once you've weeded out the weak links AND you'll be doing the grownup thing by addressing your financial priorities (you are starting a
family soon!).
i've unloaded numerous records over the years and i don't regret letting go of a single one.
most recently, i whittled down the collection to a few hundred records i had to have. these are, quite simply, my favorite records by my favorite
bands. some probably aren't even of value to anyone but me (who else collects TAD records?!)!
the last sale included a number of 'important' records (early rev and vistory releases, tour presses from the 80s, etc) that i never, ever listened
to. some of which i didn't even like, but kept because i had bought them as a kid and they had become valuable. it actually felt good to get rid of
those!
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

I actually sold half my collection when I had a distro. We just redid the room they were all in, they just take up so much space and are a pain in
the ass. I am gonna get rid of some of them, the prob;em is the ones that would make me money are the ones i would wanna keep.

I contemplate selling my records ALL OF THE TIME.
I have sold a few pieces here and there, and havent really regretted it so far.
But I also have a good ammount of debt that I need to get rid of, so it is a hard thing to face.
If and when I do, this board will be among the first to know.

Don't do it! You'll regret it! Seriously, rob a bank before you sell that shit.
Well, its this place where nobody works, and the pigs don\'t give you any shit. Everyone smokes weed and gets drunk all day. Its a place where
cunts like me and you can truly take it easy and relax. Know what I mean?
