While it sucks, it's not as bad as that Misfits album with the lounge band.

I've never heard the Misfits Lounge Band, but was curious about it. Is it really bad?
I kind of liked BLACK VELVET FLAG is it like that?

i went and saw "the misfits" at one of their first shows with dez singing
the hype was half black flag songs and half misfits songs
i was stoked to see this as dez is my fav. black flag singer
well, i stood around through 80 shithead bands
then they played
robo was on drums
jerry did the misfits songs
dez played guitar
then they did the black flag "set"
then more misfits
then i went home hating life and punk rock in general
they fuckin suuuuuucked

sidenote, henry doing the black flag thing with that band for them devil kids in jail was fucking KILLER

you come at the king....you best not miss

the fact that I missed that show makes me want to kill myself!

"The Misfits" with Michael Graves was pretty good. I saw them once with Dez, Jerry & Marky and it was pretty bad. They only did "Rise Above" so there was no Black Flag set which I would have rather seen.

I dug project 1950 alright and , sorry Disc, I dug the Nutley brass album as well. It is different and definitely not for everyone. I liked it though. I listen to alot of lounge though, Ultra lounge compilations rule.

I wonder how much of the hatred would exist if Jerry Only didn't feel the need to use the Misfits name. I think a lot of it comes from people expecting it to be Danzig, Only, Doyle, and the revolving drum stool. But it's like the Dropkick Murphys thing, which I was also guilty of... the sound changed, and I didn't dig it because I was expecting something else. Doesn't mean that what they were doing was bad, but it wasn't what I was prepared to hear when I put on a DKM album. A few years down the road, I can listen to them without the same bias. Someone on the board made a comment recently about the Bruisers along the lines of "I'm discovering this too late, since I was too busy being a douche at the time to appreciate it." I think I'm hitting that point with some things, and the Project 1950 is probably one of them. Rancid is another one that I'm just getting into these days... I was just too fucking punk rock to give them a shot back then. Well, there's a time and a place to be that asshole kid, and that's what I was doing. But I can listen to it now and dig it.

I love the two albums with Graves singing, but to me they should have changed the name because it's not the same without the guy who wrote 99% of the early material. I saw them play with Graves a few times and really enjoyed it. I also saw them with Zoli from Ignite singing because Graves had just quit and that wasn't as good. I listened to Project 1950 but couldn't get into it.
