Dunno, to be honest. Death ska maybe? haha

They've been diverse enough that it's hard to nail down. Plus, they influenced so many genres, that I feel it's hard to classify them, without referencing something they spawned I guess.

See, I don't consider myself a death metal fan per say, but love them, thus the question.

Left Hand Path is possibly one of the most solid Earache releases ever for me.
I still love it even (gasp) 18 years later...

Clandestine was an AMAZING album. I wish I had that one again. That would take me back. That was the album that got me into them.

Another very solid release by them. It can't fuck with the song Stranger Aeons though. That beginning is so tight.

My favorite Entombed release was the Out of Hand single. Three badass fucking tracks. For full lengths my favorite is To Ride, Shoot Straight, & Speak the Truth. That album is all kinds of awesome.

Not anymore. The first two albums were pure death metal. Then they got all fucked up and started to put out rubbish.

MM,
Check out Death Breath, it's some Entombed guys...good shit.

Don't know that Entombed was ever grind, I would say everything up to and including Clandestine was just standard issue early 90's earache death. Left Hand Path is good, I just thing its kind of mediocre when compared to Clandestine in a songwriting sense.

Check out Cardiac Arrest - Cadaverous Presence...killer death/grind from the Chicago area.

Ya I have some stuff by Death Breath. Those guys are the shit. I also would agree that Clandestine is Entombed's best album and one of the best death metal albums ever written.

no way. they put out some awesome metal, call it whatever you want. listen to demon, chief rebel angel.... they released so many great songs i can´t count. it`s just no death metal anymore. it´s death n roll :)
death breath are a great project, too, unfortunately they play hardly a show, but their records rule.

all you guys should check oput evocation, they sound like the first two entombed records...and trap them, they are the hc version of entombed.

I really really like pretty much everything they've done, including the more modern "death n roll" stuff.
