speaking of sappy stories
For those that don't know, I'm very close with my grandma (who I call Sophia). A few months ago she moved to Maine, and since the move her Alzhimers
has gotten sevearly worse. She still know's who I am, and the day that goes will be one of the hardest days of my life....
Anyways, when I go up there all we really do now is cuddle. I jump in her little twin size bed and we put our arms around each other an she puts her
legs on me or vice versa and she asks all sorts of questions that don't really make sence, so I just try to keep my anwsers simple.
so as we're cuddling yesterday she starts farting, so ofcourse, we both giggle. I say "what are you doing" she says "it's not me, it's Mickey Mouse on
a motorcycle"
she farts again
we giggle, she farts some more.
I say, "so who was that"
she says "that one was me, I was just trying to keep you warm".
I love that girl.
And here's a picture of my newest ink
When I showed her, the first thing she said was "ohhhhhhh it's me!!" with a huge smile on her face.

no matter what, it sounds like you'll have tremendous memories of that woman.

She lives in Shapleigh. which is about 20 minutes from Sanford.
My gramps was born and raised in Springvale (between Shapleigh and Sanford), one of the properties I take care of is there, my great-grandpa built it.

AHAHAHHA. My grandma will never fart around us grandkids. She doesn't eat green trees or baked beans because of it. It's like she never ever farted
ever.
Alzheimer's is something everyone should be funding an unending amount of money. That disease has to be cured. It is so mysterious. Even the most
educated people are confused of its cause and how to stop its effects. You are very lucky to have every moment you do with her. You know she cherishes
them with you.
Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

My family has very little 'class' when it comes to the farting department. We really all have 5th grade boy humor.
And I agree about the funding. the disease sucks, and there is NOTHING they can do about it. The few meds they have are too "maybe" slow down the
affects, but nothing is for sure.
But, though the disease blows, it's hard to say which is worse of 2 evils. My grandpa was sharp as a whip till the day he died. he knew everything
that was wrong with him, he spent the last month of his life in a hospital bed where he knew the doctors where just giving him false hope. He knew he
was never going to see his home again.
It's strange, but I suppose if I could choose, I would rather loose my mind. It's definetly hard at first. The anger and depression you face is
compleatly unbearable. Now she's at the point where it is a little easier. She's still waiting for her husband, but thinks he just ran to the store.
Thinks people she hasn't seen in a long time have just left, and people that are there all the time havn't visited in months.

i really like that idea for a tattoo.
i lived with my grandparents (mother's parents) for several years as a child and was always very close to them.
my grandfather passed away about 10 years ago, my grandmother two years ago.
i've wanted to get something in their memory, but haven't come up with anything good.
thorp has a memorial tattoo for our (my other) grandfather.
post that shit up if you read this.

i have one grandma i'm really close to and see a lot.
my other grandma (my dad's mom) died in '05 but i only saw her 2 times a yeear so it didn't really hit me hard. once she passed, it basically split
the family on my dad's side apart and i haven't talked to them since the funeral in '05. so...you're lucky. that's a good story.
