when you buy a used car
Do you get CARFAX history reports run? I tried and they wanted me to pay of it online. When I put in the vin# it said it had 9 reports. They stated
that the reports could be bad or good but I need to buy the report to find out.
Its a 2007 JEEP LIBERTY with 33000miles. Visibly good looking and normally it should be listed around $13,640 per KBB.com in excellent condition. They
are down to $12,000. I figured I'd could get them to go $11,000. Maybe lower but who knows. After seeing this issue with KBB/CARFAX I'm not so sure.

do the carfax
if there is something wrong with the car and it's not on the carfax report
carfax will get you a full refund...
just look at it as prepurchase insurance.
and you can use it for up to 3 months on any car you are looking at.
well worth it.

I would push to have the dealer supply one for the vehicle. They probably have a carfax account, and with the economy the way it is, if there is
someone willing to spend money, it's a small cost of doing business. I would also look online for any type of club for the vehicle.....like a Liberty
owners group. Lurk the site and see what problems the owners have encountered. It makes for a great bargaining tool. The last thing a dealer wants is
someone who's informed and not afraid to speak up. Good luck.
P.s I'm new and hope I didn't ramble much haha
I'm ok with people not liking me

Plus when I am ready to buy I'll take all your advice and make them do the CARFAX reports on whatever I buy or ask for more of a discount if I have
to. I never used that for a car purchase but it makes total snese especially since the past hurricanes, and floods etc we have had in the US. Not to
mention normal accidents and issues with cars.

When I bought my last car from Enterprise, they paid for it. They did tell me that there is no "governing body" for carfax and that people are not
required to enter info into the system.
I would for sure get it though and they have a membership as a dealer so I would think they would cover it.

^^^^^^^^^^ Always a loophole. Thats standard issue for a company in the UNITED STATES. Big Business is like our Constitution. No clear definition of
how it actually operates.
