Have to say I like the look of portrait tattoos but they all end up as a splotchy mess after 10 years. Those in particular look great, its nice to see
someone use colour in them. Best portrait artist ive ever seen is Dougie Mitz

Making an appointment with me.
Current mood: imaginative
I get a lot of requests on how to make an appointment. I charge 150 dollars per hour with a 150 dollar non-refundable deposit. It usually takes me
anywhere from 6-8 hours for a portrait. If you are serious about setting something up with me please send your name, phone number, your idea,
picture, and area that you would like to get tattooed to nnikko4@aol.com. I will answer you in a timely manner.
Thanks,
Nikko

^ i don't think that's unrealistic.
i haven't gotten tattooed in years and whenever i did it was free, but i think that rate is common now and the timeframe is reasonable given the
complexity and size of those pieces.

I'm surprised it's only $150/hr. I don't think I've heard of a standard hourly rate below $90 ever. Most of this guy's work looks like it's painted
on a canvas.

I've never heard of them charging by the hour, but then again all mine are itty bitty.

Pretty much every shop I've ever been in does an hourly rate. The shop I work in charges 150/hour and the deposit varies from piece to piece. Most
places will offer a lower rate for a decent session though.

I've never been charged an hourly rate for any of my work, but, 90 an hour seems to be kind of typical for "hourly" work.

even if you're not charged an open-ended hourly rate (as in, "this shamrock is $100/hour until it's done even if it takes me a month"), certainly the
artist is giving you a price for the piece based on his/her idea of how long it's going to take and how much s/he wants to make while doing it.
i feel like it's the same thing for argument for almost any service that is performed...
- you want a cheaper hourly rate? sure, it just took me an hour longer to finish!
- you want a lower total cost? sure, i just put less effort into it!
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

$100-$125 an hour is the average around my area. The guy that did mine usually says about the size of your palm is an hour, depending on detail.
