this motherfucker's collecting the REAL light saber!

Luke Skywalker light saber auctioned for $240,000

LOS ANGELES – Luke Skywalker's light saber has been on Star Wars fans' Christmas lists for more than 30 years.

On Thursday, one fan spent $240,000 to get the real thing: the prop that Mark Hamill used in the first two movies in the original "Star Wars" trilogy.

The light saber highlighted several Hollywood memorabilia sold at an auction in Los Angeles by Profiles in History. The auction house said it sold about $3.5 million in memorabilia.

The droid helmet worn by Anthony Daniels to play C-3PO sold for $120,000, and the costume Marlon Brando wore in the "Superman" movie went for $72,000.

The first British edition of "You Only Live Twice" inscribed by Ian Fleming sold for $84,000. Roald Dahl's handwritten screenplay for the film of the same title sold for $96,000.

If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

hahaha $240k. I watched a piece on the news about the auction before it happened but they haven't yet shown us a follow up about the actual sales.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

I know it's the REAL prop, but it's just a slightly modified "graflex flash gun" from an old camera. You could make one really easy.

QFT Honus. Sadly, though, graflex flash guns can cost a fortune because of fanboys.

That's what makes the original trilogy so much cooler than the prequels. They had to make shit out of other shit, and it was awesome. Most of the PT lightsabers were just designed, carved out of blocks of probably plastic... cast in a mold and then made outta plastic or rubber. The metal ones they made were machined specially. There's not the same kind of inginuity there.
