the best music releases you bought in 2008

what studio recordings, by an artist or a band, did you buy or get as a gift in 2008 that came out for the first time in 2008 and you like a lot, which means you played it at least once a day for a period of time?

i'm still trying to remember what i bought that was new for 2008, but i'll lead it off with Scars On Broadway.

it's the guitar dude from System Of A Down doing everything but the drums which are done by the SOAD drummer.

if you don't like SOAD, you probably wouldn't like this.

if you do, it definitely souds like SOAD, but it's a bit more rock oriented with no Serj.

Blacklisted album

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Joe Coffee - When the fabric don't fit the frame

Hudson Falcons - Desire to Burn

Mark Linskey & The Street Corner Matadors - End of the Road

Shit Outta Luck - Family Tradition *

Death & Taxes - Tattooed Hearts & Broken Promises *

*I think these 2 may have came out in 2007,but I'm not sure...I still played the hell out of them in '08.

The one I listen to most I'd have to say is Motley Crue - Saints Of Los Angeles.

Add the N.Y.H.C. Documentary DVD to my list, forgot about that. Double DVD was sweet.
