gotta say, not too impressed, too similar to last year and none of the bands are worth 40 bucks for a 20min set

Good punk/HC/oi shows coming up. Check out http://myspace.com/refuseresistband

There's a few bands I'd like to see. Probably won't go unless I have someone to go with though, and unfortunately there's some bands on both days I'd like to see. I don't feel like going two days in a row.

Not sure which day I'd choose.

Friday, April 17th
Suffocation
The Haunted
Napalm Death
Kataklysm

Saturday, April 18th
Lamb Of God
God Forbid
Municipal Waste
Have Heart
Terror (iffy)

I would have wanted to see Shai Hulud 10 years ago, but Im just not interested in them anymore. Why didn't they stay broken up? I'd only be interested in hearing stuff from Terror if it's off the EP and first album. Lamb of God has always been awesome when I've seen them and could be worth the drive. I guess I'd lean more towards Saturday even though Suffocation was great when I saw them, and I'd love to see them again.

I went for the first 5 years faithfully, hotel, lots of chaos, good times.

What sucks is there are 2 stages, so it never fails that at some point 2 of the few bands that I would really want to see where playing at the same time.

Now I'd rather save my money for the more important things in life, like cat liter.

I remember going to the Milwaukee Metafest years ago where they had four stages. I was running back and forth all day.

I'd go for this:

Friday, April 17
All That Remains
Suffocation
The Haunted
Napalm Death
Kataklysm
Cattle Decapitation
Psycroptic

Saturday, April 18th
Trapped Under Ice
This is Hell

Psycroptic is the best band playing.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Why don't they drop the "hardcore" from the name? There's like 2 bands on there that are hardcore bands, and some people wouldn't even consider them such round these parts.

Trap Them
Aggressive Dogs
Have Heart
Shipwreck
Terror
Cold World
Trapped Under Ice
This is Hell
Cruel Hand
The Carrier
Energy
Dead Swans

All hardcore bands. I could see the argument that Terror isn't if you're a real purist. The fest is all genres of metal, hardcore and all of their little subs, and crossovers.
