so I'm on my way home from work & I meet Dan Akroyd...

I stopped for gas on my way home from work, right near my house actually and theres a liqure store next door to the gas station. I'm pulling in the gas station and there are cars parked everywhere!! I got my gas and then went to the Subway on the other side of the liqure store to get a sandwich. My curiousity got the best of me so I parked and went into the liqure store... what did I see you ask?

Dan Akroyd was there promoting some vodka that comes in a crystal skull bottle and selling some wine with his name on it.

He was pretty awesome... I wasnt gonna get in line to meet him (the line was big when I got there), but I got sucked into people watching and then the line got shorter so I got in it. The Vodka was $50 so I passed on that, but I wanted my picture taken with him so I did buy the wine ($17) and he signed that. I also bought a 2 liter of Pepsi that he signed (remember the SNL skit "Pepsi, Pepsi, no Coke"?).

I told him Slapshot was playing at the House of Blues in a couple of weeks with the Dropkick Murphys and he said "that will be a great gig for you boys... we built that room especially for music, you'll love it... it will be a great gig for you boys"

What the hell is going on with that Pepsi bottle? New logo?

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

they all look like that now except for Pepsi Lime & Wild Cherry Pepsi, those two still have the older style lables. One weird thing about those new lables is that the white stripe in the middle of the circle is a different width on each type of soda (Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Pepsi Max, etc.).

Nice. I saw that on your facebook and laughed. You look like bros.

The Pepsi logo is based on emoticons. It makes me sick. As a designer, I am not liking the "simplicity" that is coming out of firms lately. Tropicana and Pepsi, you had good things going, why wreck it?

It certainly looks more home/no name brand now with the boring font, I dig it as a once off but I love the classic Pepsi logo and font.

Off topic much? :)

Yeah me too! In my first post I was going to say "I tried to get my picture taken with a copy licking his lips and Dan Akroyd got in the way!"

My fiance Heather does liquor sales for her job and had a meeting last night with her work and Dan Akroyd, to talk about his new vodka they will be carrying. I am looking at the bottle right now. I guess he gave a bottle to the 200+ people that were there and signed everyone of them on the spot. Seems like a really nice guy to do that. On a side note because of Heathers liquor sales job our place looks like a booze wharehouse. In our cabinets where there should be food there is booze and more booze and etc. Ridiculous!
