Adware, Spyware, Porn, and other shit...
What programs can I use to rid my gf's computer of this shit? It makes it real slow and it just sucks to use.
Free programs would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

Check out download.com
I found a good free program called Malwarebytes that got rid of a malware posing as an anti-virus that I picked up going to some site without ever
having downloaded it. Took me like 6 programs to get it off, but that Malwarebytes did the job. It just doesn't offer any real time protection.

I recently had a collection of trojan virus' invade my computer and neither Avast or AVG could take care of the problem. I tried Malwarebytes and it
cleaned up my computer in no time. So now, at the advice of an IT guy, I use both Malwarebytes and AVG. Both are free.

how does this shit happen, just from visiting websites?
or are you downloading and installing applications from dubious sources?

I don't know where I picked the shit up, which really bugs me.

Hahha, Big D... you have almost nothing to worry about because you're a Mac man. PC people are screwed when it comes to this stuff, and there's some
sneaky stuff out there.
Sometimes viruses are hidden in banner ads nowadays! Seriously. A site will have some banner ads, they think they are legit... and then their users
get tagged with viruses from the ads, report it to the site and the site has to scramble to figure out which ad(s) it is. Onemanga.com has been having
this problem recently. It's weird, because a firewall or anti-virus won't always take care of this stuff.

I'd go Malwarebytes & AVG, then run Spybot S&D and AdAware later to check for anything that was missed. If you're browser is doing retarded things,
Hijack This! is the next port of call.
A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s
a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal
favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

I've been running a Malwarebytes full scan for over 2 hours and it isn't done yet, all because I saw something on Yahoo about some new trojan that's
supposed to go off tomorrow.
