my company anounced a 20% lay off starting tomorrow.it's going to a long night got me a six pack to ride it out..the whole engineering & construction business is going to shit fast.all the major players are laying off left and right here in houston..i can forget about finding another job in my field at this time..the major oil & gas companies are pulling the plug on current projects,and shelving upcoming projects..fuck change for real..

well i made it this round my dept got hit hard lost 4 that i know of out of 9..

despite the general downturn, is it reasonable to assume that your company couldn't do what they do if everyone in your department was gone? in other words, might four out of nine be it?

I haven't worked steadily since like November. Last Monday was the first day I worked in over a month. Still don't know when the next job will be.

Hopefully things will be getting better for all of us soon.

yeah its a final number one of the guys they let go has been in the industry for 35 years he had forgotten more than most people know..he was a good dude and wolud always help people out of they had a question.i lost some friends today for sure i just wish them the best of luck..
