Thos weekend Up Down and All Around

So, this past weekend was a fun, weird and at times stressful one.

It started out at 11:30 PM on Thursday when I got the text from Rick Barton that Everybody Out was canceling on us. Normally I wouldn't care, but they were insistent that they were going to supply the majority of equipment, all we needed to bring was a bass cab. So, we didn't have room for anything else. I am sure you have seen pics of the band haha we can barely fit in my Honda Element without any equipment at all.

So, all day Friday at work was a scramble to get in touch with the bands we were playing with and make sure we were set.

Luckily, Dead Rebel Radio, Morgue Riot and Damnation Alley helped us out. For them we are grateful.

To make matters worse, I couldn't get in touch with Stigma to make sure they were playing (we were supposed to do Fri/Sat with them). In the end, they played just the Friday show.

Now onto the good things. Friday, we drive for 3 hours to Pittsfield, MA. We get to the exit and drive through miles of woods, thinking "what kind of scene will they have out here, Hobbit-core?"

It turned out to be the best show of the weekend. The first band was great, we lowered the ticket price to make up for the ditching band not being there. Everyone there had a great time, I got to look at some records I was afraid to buy (they'd get destroyed) and Stigma put on an amazing set.

We then head out to Albany to meet up with some friends at Denny's and crash.

Saturday morning we are off to Niagra Falls. It was a long drive, but thankfully Mike and John are some hilarious people. The drive goes by pretty quickly. When we get there though, it's kind of too late to go all the way to the horseshoe falls, so we decide to hit the casino. I lose a buck fifty and john wins 450. Ha. damn roulette got me.

We get to the club on time, it's a cool goth type club. Can't stand the sub-genre, but damn they have nice clubs and bartenders. We played second and got really good crowd reaction. Sold more merch and had a blast.

Because John cashed in, we decide to drive a little and get a room so we don't have to do the full Buffalo/Albany drive in the am.

Albany, the show we thought would be the best. Afterall, it's the hardcore show of the trip. Well.....the kids there stood still for EVERY band that we saw play, and only a few even watched us. It was like those little vegetarian straight edge kids needed some protein or something. If they turned the wrong way they might have snapped a bone.

Also, only one or two band members watched us, so that made our decision easy for us, we took off when we were done around 7. This way we can get home to our own nice beds and get a few hours of sleep before starting the work week.

Overall, with all the trials thrown at us for a little weekend tour, we had a blast, and will definitely be doing more excursions once we have everything recorded.

Sorry for the blab, but thought you guys might want to know.

Sounds like a wild weekend.
Challenging, but fun.

Stoked to hear there was time for gambling.
I love gambling.

If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

Never been to Albany, but I always here bands bitch about playing there. Are the crowds are real PC and shit? That would suck to play for a bitch of pretentious bitches.

Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

Nah, the crowd was just weird. I think we said hi to Shane, Dave and the 4-5 people we know out there. Everyone else was just standing there. It's not a reflection on Albany at all, we played there last year and kids tore it up.

I think it was just this show. Also, Stigmata played the night before and I am sure that hurt attendance.

We played ok though, that's what matters to me. And we had a decent time playing. It's just funny to me that people can literally stand there for a half hour and not even bob their heads haha.

Yeah we played and no one did anything. The first 2 bands played and everyone was just standing there like they were bored ut of their mind. When we played the bands were all outside. It just wasnt a good atmosphere. We played a goth club the night before and had more of a reaction. I don't understand it.
