philly thorp board

anyone got the day free tomorrow? i'll be at the airport 8:45am to 6:00pm.

pulling together all my flight itineraries (since i kept having to buy segments of the flight and didn't know when i could leave one place), and i noticed my flight plan is:

fort lauderdale to baltimore (layover in philly)
baltimore to london (layover in philly)
london to zurich

first two are on the same airline, but i thought the first layover was in charlotte. so, i'm going to arrange it tomorrow morning to avoid the unnecessary trip to BWI.

Damn... That's one hell of a layover.
I'd come out, but my day is already booked with meetings.

If you have a manageable amount of carryon luggage, I'd recommend grabbing the R1 SEPTA train into the city. Only takes 20 minutes and costs just a few bucks. Go to the Market East station - you'll be near a number of historic sites (Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Betsy Ross House, etc) and there are plenty of great places to eat nearby.

You could kill a day in the Philadelphia Museum of Art. SEPTA R1 to Suburban Station, then cab OR Bus 48.

Or just go to South Street and get tattooed at Gavin's shop. That's what I'd do!

If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

Nice ideas. Carryon should be totally manageable. And what's the name of this tattoo shop? Unlikely I'll have cash to get something, but I'll take a look at things and see.

Oh, and it's not actually one layover. It's the layover and flight from Philly to Baltimore, layover and flight from Baltimore back to Philly, and (second Philly) layover for Philly to London.

It seems crazy the way it's listed now, but I had to go to Baltimore to straighten out a bunch of shit to get my visa, and I didn't know how long that would take... ended up being about five weeks. So each of the three flights was booked several weeks apart from the others.

theres alot to see, eat, and drink in close proximity to the station at market east.
id love to ditch work andd come be a tourist...
and one of these days i'll get to Geoff's shop, and one of these days i will have money for a new nice tattoo...

check out the Mutter Museum. I've never seen so many dead babies and skulls riddled with syphilitic caries. And the world's largest colon.

here's the schedule. keep in mind i booked flights separately, which made sense at the time due to me not knowing how long i needed to be in b-more or when i'd have my visa taken care of for switzerland. flight #2 was booked when i came back to the US, and flight #1 was booked as soon as i got my visa.

flight #1 (booked as "ft lauderdale to baltimore", to catch flight #2)
ft lauderdale to philly - depart at 6am, arrive at 8:45am
philly to bwi - dep 9:30am, arr 10:30am

flight #2 (baltimore to london)
b-more to philly - dep 4:30pm, arr 5:30pm
philly to london - dep 6:30pm, arr 7am

flight #3 (london to zurich)
no layover - dep 12:30pm, arr 3:30pm

oh, and i'm looking to skip this unnecessary trip to baltimore now and just stay in philly. i didn't realize it when i was booking tickets because i thought flight #1 had a layover in charlotte, not philly. i had the charlotte layover on the way down here to florida.
