Who are the wealthiest 10% of Americans?
This article is about the widening gap between the rich and the poor. No real surprise there, all things considered. But what I was surprised to
learn was the threshold for the wealthiest 10% of Americans.
Don't post the answer, but throw out some guesses - how much do you think you have to make to be among the wealthiest 10% in the US?

It's probably not too high. There are 280 million people in America, so being in the top 10% means you're in a select group of only 28 million other
Americans. I'll go with $250,000, though I think this is too high.

Real answer is much closer to what I thought. I'm actually surprised at how many fall into the income bracket of the 50-90%.

I would think $100 million.
I say this because of things "widening" and I just assume it is an insane amount.

if you're measuring income disparity wouldn't it be better to cite household incomes than individual incomes? Income disparity will continue to grow
because the "rich" have a higher propensity to save and invest than the poor, therefore their income alone can create additional wealth while the poor
can't do this, and if they did they would be investing such a little percentage of a relatively small income that the return on their investment would
to little to pull them out of poverty in the short term. This also works in terms of potential losses, Forbes just released their 500 list and the
list has lost 300 billion dollars and actually includes millionaires this year.

you're absolutely right. may of the statements in that article were a little unclear because the author shifted from individuals to households when
making comparisons.
