I really do forget how much i love this band sometimes.
Was listening to them tonight for the first time in a few years and totally reminded myself why i like them so much.
Yep,I was listening to an old compilation CD last night and one of their songs came on....I had to break out my air guitar for a few minutes....great
band.
Saw them years ago in Belgium opening up for Agnostic Front and Discipline. De Lintfabriek were they were playing is in tiny dim lit concrete bunker.
With a capacity of 125 people it sold out that night. Awkward Thought tore up the place, sweat dripping from walls and ceiling. That didn't stop John
Franco from wearing a hoodie, a hat and a coat.
As they don't play that many shows anymore nowadays I was extremely lucky that they were playing ABC No Rio just as I was on holiday in New York.
Since I hadn't eaten that day I wanted to grab a sandwich before I went in. But not wanting to miss their show either I asked the girl at the door,
'When is Awkward Thought playing?' On which she turns around and asks the guy next to her: 'Hey when are you guys playing?'
To this day I'm still not sure it was Franko answering her, because although the ABC No Rio was well lit that afternoon he was wearing a fire coat a
hoodie and a ski mask.
