Food, INC

Watch this movie on On Demand or rent it somewhere...It'll make you want to turn into an air-itarian...I don't want meat or vegies after watching this. We're seriously fucked.

to describe this documentary in one word, sobering.

everyone should see this.

another movie along the same lines worth watching:

The Future of Food is a 2004 documentary film which makes an in-depth investigation into unlabelled, patented, genetically engineered foods that have quietly made their way onto grocery stores in the United States for the past decade.

The Future of Food was great, I've got Food Inc bookmarked but haven't got around to grabbing it yet.

I've read a lot of articles about food production, supply, transport, chemical use etc, it's fucked up. Even if you have your own backyard garden you still buy seeds from a chemical company like Monsanto or DuPont that don't produce seeds for the next season.

Food is fucked.

Flow: For The Love of Water is a good one about water privatization and abuses in Africa & Central America where systems were forcibly sold off to private companies & local citizens were left paying a fortune for water.

There was another one about water contamination. All the hygiene products that get flushed, the chemicals that leech into the drinking water. More than 99% of those cannot be filtered out by water plants and we consume it every time we drink tap or bottled water.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.
