antivirus / spyware / malware software

Would one of you be able to reccommend me some software to combat spyware / malware?
I currently have the free version of AVG and it can not remove the malware on the PC.
It says I have the Cryptor thing and it can not be healed, plus it also says my virus vault is full.
I have looked up information online, but am skeptical of downloading / buying any of them, being i am unfamiliar with the products.
I really don't know anyone with knowledge of such things, so if any of you can help, I would really appreciate it.

Malwarebytes anti-malware is good and free. The free version of Avira is good too.

number one thing I recommend is go to bleepingcomputer.com if you are having a serious problem. you can post a thread with the details of your issue and they'll have someone guide you through getting it solved. there are a lot of things going on right now and they are kind of busy. They always recommend you start with mbam but there are some other good programs they suggest using.

I was cleaning my computer last night and now it acts like I don't have a fucking op sys. I'm posting from my wife's macbook.

Good. there are alot of those things that can slip by unnoticed. What's plaguing me has managed to elude malwarebytes and until I renamed the exe files for different anti-malware programs it wouldn't allow those to run in their entirety or at all. Pretty sinister.
