Just for shits and giggle, what does your significant other think of hardcore? Mine calls it footbal music, because she thinks the singers sound like well, football players. Oddly enough she listens to a lot of punk, metal, and a lot of different stuff. Just doesn't seem to dig on hardcore. I guess it isn't a style for everyone.

My girlfriend likes Nickelback. That says it all right there.

Although I've gotten her into some Discipline, Blood For Blood, Bruisers, DKM, and she fuckin loves Life Of Agony. I'm workin her in.

Now I'd be happy if she got rid of the fuckin Linkin Park cd's.

Have you ever noticed how crayons are a lot like M&M's? All the colors tend to taste the same.

Luckily for me my girlfriend loves hardcore and is always down for a 2-3 hr drive to shows in nearby cities, I say luckily because I don't drive and would miss some of these shows otherwise.
My girlfriend also has Blood For Blood skulls tattooed on her elbows :D
I don't know if any girl apart from her would put up with me and my antics with all the guys from bands and our local hardcore community just being idiots all the time.

my wife listens to a wide variety of stuff, but not really much hardcore. in the 15 years we've know each other, i've drug her out to a enough shows, so i think it's become kinda comical for her.

she listens to stuff in the depeche mode / morrissey / new order vein, the nenes, shonen knife, shane macgowan, and some ska. the most aggressive stuff she listens to is probably like dkm, foo fighters, the clash. but then she'll tell me she likes the anal cunts tracks that wound up on her ipod. i think the only thorp stuff she listens to is brain failure and natchez shakers.

My wife will only listen to Sinners and Saints and the acoustic Ramallah song. All others she doesn't enjoy. I have a one year old dughter who seems to not mind whatever I play as long as it's fast.

my gf doesnt necessarily like the stuff I listen to, but she'll tolerate it. Sometimes she'll make fun of it, but there might be a very small portion of it I think she legitamately likes. She likes Bane. I think that's about it. haha

the girl i am currently dating is very into hardcore

it is odd, since I haven't dated a girl like this in a while

The good thing is we are bolth nerds about other shit, mostly history, so we barely talk about hardcore.

yeah the girl that I am seeing is 100% filipino but she is mainly into punk, ska, rockabilly, psychobilly, and old honky tonk country... she is funny as with it because you should hear her trying to sing hank williams sr... its priceless... she looks like a rockabilly chick and all that jazz.... But in the 1 1/2 years that we known each other (we met at an Adicts show and then again at Subhumans) she has slowly started getting into hardcore... she likes alot of the stuff that I am into and she also researches what the band is and about before listening to them ..... these are the bands that I have gotten her into and now they are some of her favorites
NORTHSIDE KINGS
BLOOD FOR BLOOD
FIVE FAMILIES
CLENCHED FIST
MADBALL
CRO MAGS
SHEER TERROR
JUDGE
DISCIPLINE
STREET DOGS
DUCKY BOYS
just to name a few

just take a look at the papers
your leaders
they\'re killers
they\'re liars
what they do in your
name to make the bodies pile higher
the murders, the terror
they\'ve done it forever
as we sit band and smile
at the script they sell us
but now the victims, they\'re rising
their numbers\'s multiplying
they want their revenge for the years
that they\'ve been dying

My wife is slowly starting to get into it. The more shows she sees & bands she hears the more she likes it. Last show I took her to was Madball and she was into them.
She typically listens to Avril Lavigne, Melissa Etheridge, Jewel & other chick rock. But she enjoys Madball now & has seen Terror, Last Nerve, Jungle Fever, 4 In Tha Chamber, Flat Earth Society, In Time, Day of Contempt, Against and many others so far :D

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.
