Working on a new tattoo
Had the second session last night on the worst spot I've had tattooed so far, the back of the knee and thigh. We've still got a ways to go, but I
thought I'd share what we've got so far....

Owls are for wisdom and bats are actually a good luck symbol, that feeds into this somewhat but it's really more of an abstract thing for me than a
strictly symbolic piece. My friend Corey Crowley is the artist doing this one and he and I have been talking about doing something involving an owl
for a while now. He's the same artist who did the two headed skeleton with the jack o' lantern on my shin. As for the pain, it's a tiny price to pay.
What's a few hours of pain that won't really even be remembered when I've got an amazing piece of art with me for the rest of my life?
We're planning to do a limited color scheme on this, most likely all shades of blue with maybe some small points in contrast, probably the owl's eyes
and maybe something else.

I'm a fucking idiot. I didn't even realize that was a bat at the bottom when I first looked.
Instead of all blue, might a recommend a bit of purple around the moon. It could really add to the atmsphere of it. Just a thought.

Very nice. I'm itching (no pun intended) to get some new ink myself.

That looks killer man. I have heard the back of the leg is very unpleasant. I have one more sit on my chest and then am starting a huge mask on my
stomach.

Thanks guys, kinda weird that this was dug up, but I appreciate the comments. This has been finished for a few months now, but I don't have any
completed photos yet. I'd take one myself if it wasn't in such an awkward spot to try to shoot. We did go with the monochromatic thing and it's all in
shades of blue. I'm really stoked on it and I thank you guys for all the compliments. Yeah, pain-wise, that hit on some of the roughest spots I've
ever had tattooed, the back of the knee in particular was brutal. Of course, as I say that I'm thinking about scheduling something with another one of
the artists at the shop to do something in the same place on my other leg.

By the way, here's another piece that got started while the owl and bat were in progress. This is actually on the same leg as that piece, so there
were definitely some rough times when both my upper and lower leg were killing me. These photos were taken the day this was finished, so they're a
little shiny, sorry.

and yes, that is a three headed monster cock hanging below my knee, just in case you had to ask.

that looks awesome too.
I dug up the thread doing a search for "OWL" trying to find a thread I started menting 'White Owl' a long time ago.
