Texans!

Going to San Antonio with the wife towards the end of March and staying on the riverwalk. Anything notable around there for me to squeeze into her Clark Griswold like vacation agendas?

Thanks.

We're basically going to be there from Weds at noon to Friday at noon so it's just a quick 2 day thing. At this point I'm not even sure we're renting a car as the airport looks to be 10mi away from the riverwalk area, so we may just cab down there and back.

That kind of limits the choices of what we're going to do as it seems looking at sites like chowhound you have to leave that area to get good food....I have to believe that's mostly local food snobbery with some truth mixed together. But again...in 2 days it's not like we're going to get a whole hell of a lot done anyway.

I'd like to go to lockhart for some BBQ...but my wife is a veg so i cant see making an hour drive for just me to eat.

Honestly I'm more concerned with the lack of good beer places right now. seems like a lot of themed tourist trap macro bars in that vicinity. I'll have to do a little digging to find someplace with a good selection of micros and crafts.

I had BBQ at Rudy's in the Austin area.
It was pretty awesome.
