who is the most consistant hardcore/punk band?
what band that has been active for 10 + years actually releasing records do you think is the most consistant?
As great as Bad Brains is, theres a few clunkers in their catalog. Same thing with Slapshot.
it could be Black Flag, but they are not currently active and were only together for less than 10 years. Same for Minor Threat.
I'm going with Murphys Law. Their live show is not what it used to be and the band is totally just Jimmy Gestapo and whoever else is available to play
that week, but their records are consistantly good.
Bong Blast - rating: B
Murphys Law - rating: A+
Back with a Bong - rating: A+
Best of Times - ratiing: B
Good For Now - rating: B+
Dedicated - rating A+
The Partys Over - rating: A
Beer, Smoke & Live - rating: I dont know why, but I dont have this record!
Covered - rating: C+

I'd go with Social Distortion. They've consistantly gotten better with each album, as opposed to releasing the same album over and over again.

Thats a really good question honus....
For me its got to be riot squad/the staggers/dog company...Different names same band.
Or sick of it all...
Living a life kept shut by a dream,
I'm reaching out to grasp my reality.
Hands of time wrap tight around my neck, and hit me so hard,
leaving me eyes black.
staring at a ceiling,
wondering why i never left,
penning words in a notebook,
wondering why haven't slept.
sanity is tapping in a cell
inside my fucking head.
begging for redemption
after hearing what was said.
the nights, they will not sleep
cause the days, have played for keeps.

Have to go with Sick of It All.
Sheer Terror comes to mind as their signature sound always came through.

Sick of it all is a really good choice too. I have a soft spot for Murphys Law cause they were the first hardcore show I ever saw.
I think that Blood for Blood had a chance at being one of those bands if they had continued and that Rob might be one of those people if he keeps
putting out music.

when i read your name, i knew this was coming.
but you´re right. they play their style constantly for 13 yrs now and get better with every record, although "unbreakable" won´t be able to top.

sick of it all.
murphys law
clutch. Not hardcore but I think they have gotten better as they aged. Most disagree though.
Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

This is a great question. All of my favorite punk bands that I used to listen to (Anti-Flag, Bouncing Souls, Swingin Utters, Rancid) have all put out
at least one stinker or neutral record.
Against Me has been pretty solid.
Dropkick Murphys haven't forgotten what their fans like.
Potentially controversial statement: if you were to humor me for a moment and consider Green Day to be punk then I'd consider them to have steadily
improved.

I have two bouncing souls tattoos, love them. Always put out great pop punk albums.
As for green day if you take them for what they are, "punk"!!! you have a very good point.
As DKM's i really can't get into warriors code,i've give it a few listens and not feeling it.

As a related question, do you guys like it when a band releases similar records over and over or do you want the band to up and change direction
periodically?

If you have a winning combination stick to it.
Why are you thinking of going salsa?

Am I the only person that doesn't think SOIA has put out a good album since Just Look Around? Even if I liked those albums past that there's no way
I'd be able to fool myself into thinking they were consistant with their previous works.

Its good when they change a little or grow, you don't want to get the same record 5 times, but at the same time if they stray to far it can suck.

I think you might be alone on this one. While my favorite albums by them are Just Look Around and Scratch the Surface, I still love the albums
they've put out since then.
