I might have a job at a golf course.

I went for a interview yesterday (which IMO went very well)

It's for a chef/cook at a golf course which sounds very interesting after the guy who interviewed me explained his intentions.. Basically he's been there nearly 25 years running the kitchen, the food is very basic due to the clients being 50+.
But the potential is great as he wants to train someone up over the next 3 years to take over the kitchen and also take his place as he'll be retiring after said 3 years.

He also explained that a lot of money could be made for the right person, which is easy to see as the golf course has been open for 100 years next year..They have booking for weddings, funerals and birthdays booked up for the next 2 years. Also during the winter they have to cut the hours down to 22 a week due to nobody playing golf BUT they/he still pays everybody 36-40 hours. (which is really nice) and means more time in bed,cos lets face it winters a bit shit.

I have 12 years experience in catering along with the running of kitchens, pubs and cafes ranging from al a carte to pub grub.

I really hope i get it as i want to get married soon and well not settle down, but be comfortable and be able to stand back and think I either made a good go of it or spend the next 25 years earning good money.

Living a life kept shut by a dream,
I'm reaching out to grasp my reality.
Hands of time wrap tight around my neck, and hit me so hard,
leaving me eyes black.
staring at a ceiling,
wondering why i never left,
penning words in a notebook,
wondering why haven't slept.
sanity is tapping in a cell
inside my fucking head.
begging for redemption
after hearing what was said.
the nights, they will not sleep
cause the days, have played for keeps.

Hey hope you get it...

I did the culinary thing for a long time before I got in to the screen printing business...
I ran a few kitchens and I swear the stress almost killed me back then but I miss it sometime, just being able to leave at the end of the day and not stress until the next day

Yeah its a very stressful job,and i've been in some right states in the past not to mention the fights and arguments and when i say fights i mean proper punch ups. But i get very bored and restless easily, but catering always tends to keep people busy so in turn i won't get bored or restless.

And thanks lifeisabitch.

I love cooking, but I don't think I could deal with the stress.

I was thinking that when i first heard about it..But while at my interview a few of the members was sat there chatting away and having a laugh and joke with my interviewer, Just old guys more than likely getting away from her in doors..So i don't think i'll have any problems with snobs or stuck up arseholes. Plus its in Salford...Home of the brave land of the working class.

Did it for well over a decade, and can tell you that's the understatement of the year.
