sounds for me that they are the generators of folk punk. not always that happy as flogging molly and all the others are, but more melancholic.
after the first listening i must say, good record.

It sounds good. Didn't Johnny Rioux record this at his new studio? If so then he did a really good job.
I'm probably in the minority here but I just can't get behind music like this. I like Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys but we don't need any more
bands like that. Even worse is that band Gorgol Bordello that's taking the whole "ethnic" thing to an even more absurd level.
I liked generic street punk/oi more when it was all woah's, ohhh's and go!'s. Now we have to hear doodly-doo mandolins and guitar lines that mimmick
bagpipe parts. Give me more Megadeth please and hold the doodly-doo's.

listening to it now, not bad. Although I do like the meixcan song best so far. Hourglass.
I have always thought they were a good fun band to see. They are definitely chasing the sound of the big irish bands, but I think they are starting to
sound less generic as far as that genre goes. Funnier that there is now a genre for it.

Well I listened to the whole album and while I did like it, if I never heard it again I would be fine with that also. I guess it does not say much for
the album. Oh well.

It is good to know that mandolins make the music doodly-doo!! I play bagpipes and mandolin but never really thought of the mandolin as trying to
mimmick bagpipe parts. But I also would never play the bagpipes on any rock songs. I agree that it has been done and it isn't something I would want
to try.

Maybe it's not bagpipes that the aforementioned doodly-doo's tend to follow but they are meant to sound Celtic in someway. I can't think of an example
to site right now because when I hear a band like that then I just turn it off. But if one comes to me then I will let you guys know (as I'm sure
you'll all be holding your breath).
