Really stupid question

I was out and about yesterday and heard a guy refer to a chick as a "Marla." What the fuck is a Marla?

I prefer to call the "birds", "dames" or "skirts". "Marla" just objectifies them way too much.

but yeah... Ive never heard of "Marla" before either. At least Ive never heard a person say it in real life. Maybe in a movie.

I prefer "broads" but I still want to know what the hell a "Marla" is. I don't know why it's bugging me so much but it is dammit. Somebody tell me.
