Check the link.
No more shows at the Khyber after this month.
Probably my favorite bar to see live music

Well that sucks. I have seen some kickass shows there. That is the first and only venue I ever saw Joe Coffee play and the size of the place made it a
blast.
Plus I remember getting hit with a garbage can during an impromptu Bad Luck 13 reunion in 2006.

Was he the guy who did a few songs with the Dramacidals at the Joe Coffee show in January of 2009?

Toronto lost one of its best places for shows this year. I couldn't even begin to count the number of shows I went to there. I hate when the good
places are gone.

nah Tommy wouldn't be doing no songs.
aside from that, he texted me tonight and called bullshit on this.
he says it's just for a month or so, so I really may have jumped the shark on this one.
but all bs aside, I hope it is bs

love the club, hate the neighborhood.
hopefully they'll keep doing shows.
Johnny Brenda's and North Star are decent venues, but have their issues. JB's feels too fancy, too club like with the velvet ropes and bouncers and
measured shots and being clean and all. North Star has a lot going for it (easy access off 76, full restaurant, good, cheap bar), but there is NO
DANCING (WTF?!?!) and it's in an absolute crap neighborhood. Last time I was there, EVERY car on the block I parked on had its windows smashed.
The Khyber is a rock club. It's dirty, no one gives a fuck what you do, and the booze is strong and cheap. Yeah, parking is a bitch and the people
that frequent that neighborhood are just...wow, but it's worth it.

I am hoping that this is BS.
I only ever saw one show at North Star and it was Street Dogs/Ducky Boys in December of 2006, I hated the venue and the bouncers seemed to be extra
dickish.

Big Bop?
A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s
a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal
favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Yup. It's being turned into a furniture store or something.

the whole venue is closing down, like for refurbishing?

either way, someone's gotta do something about that pisser.
