What's up this weekend?

I'm headed down to Bmore to hang with old friends and check out an exhibition match between Manchester City v. Inter Milan at the Raven's stadium. This is my second solo (sans-family) weekend trip this year, which is highly unusual.

Tonight, cook some dinner, then watch Howard the Duck, tomorrow, The man and his buddy are building a shed in the back yard, so I'll be heckling and drinking wine.

Unpack more boxes, try to find journal articles on enterprise systems for one of my classes, catch up my own business work, spend some time with the family, get my PC setup and get Hands on ERP & Visual Studio installed on it... lots of stuff.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Leaving in about 30 mins to go for a hike this morning/afternoon. I only hiked it once, but its pretty awesome when you get to the end and look 200' straight down a shear cliff to the water.

Went to Social D at Lupo's on Friday, Saturday we finished the Freaks & Geeks boxed set that I got my girlfriend for Mother's Day (from the cat), spent the rest of the weekend doing not much of anything, although I did get to hang out with my daughter for a bit yesterday.

hung with some friends who were in from out of town on friday.

spent saturday morning with the kids while my wife volunteered at their school. breakfast at the diner, a visit to the local skate shop, then off to the playground. great stuff.

then the whirlwind, 24 hour trip to Baltimore. started off at the tiki barge (it's a bar and pool on a barge in the harbor. dope, despite the fact it feels like the set of The Jersey Shore), moved on to nick's seafood on the waterfront for dinner, hit a few bars in federal hill before the soccer match, then frazier's in hampden after the match. i was in a state. caught a few hours of sleep, then got tattooed sunday morning at my man joe's shop, have fun be lucky. picked up a couple dozen crabs on the way out of town and grubbed with the family when i got home. slept like a champ last night, i did!

I went to Ohio for a family reunion on my mom's side. There was a volleyball tournament(which I napped through most of), a horseshoes tourney(not my thing, but my 83 year old grandma almost won the thing with one of my cousins), cornhole games, swimming, "minute to win it" games, and tons of food. Hung out and talked to cousins I haven't seen in a while and my son got to play with lots of third cousins his age... AND the wife and I barely had to manage him since his Granny and Papaw and great aunts and a couple of my cousins were more than willing to play with him for 2 days. "Camped" in my parents 5th wheel too.
