Update from Mark Lind

Happy Labor Day, everyone.

Long time with no update so I thought I'd drop a line and say hello. The weather in Boston tonight feels like October and that makes me happy cuz I'm a big fan of hoodie weather. And that reminds me to plug the hoodies I'm selling. You can find them, along with other items, at this link:
http://buyourmerch.blogspot.com/

We start tracking in less than a week for Brit's first CD. She's put together some great tunes. We co-wrote two songs together and I'm pretty psyched on them. But truthfully her own songs are the hits in these sessions. Hopefully the recording comes out as planned. Our buddy, Marc Cannata, is gonna be laying down the drum tracks and then we're gonna build the record out from there. We're working on 10 songs but I think the CD will have like 5 songs on it to start. You can check out a rough demo of one of the songs at this site: http://www.myspace.com/brittanygraymusic

Finally, we're gonna have The Thanksgiving Fiasco 5 at TT the Bears this year on 11/24. That's the night before Thanksgiving or, as some call it, Wild Turkey Wednesday. The past 4 years have been partly a blast and partly a blur. Here's the line-up for the show:
Mark Lind (that's me) opening with a solo/acoustic set
Zombie Radio http://www.zombieradio.tv/
Brittany Gray (debut show with a full band) http://www.myspace.com/brittanygraymusic
Lowercase Me (debut show) http://www.reverbnation.com/lowercaseme
Cradle to the Grave closing the show out http://cradletothegrave.bandcamp.com/

The first four years of The Fiasco featured some cool bands but I'm sort of tired of seeing the same acts over and over. I'm gonna open and get that part of the show over with and then hand it over to 4 of my favorite new bands. Some of these bands have lengthy resumes but they won't be playing songs by their old bands this night. If you're curious about their past then reply to this email and I'll tell you. But I hope you guys will be excited to come out and see/hear the future of rock n' roll in Boston.

With a little luck this will be a CD release show for both Brittany Gray and for me. I'll be recording a solo in a few weeks when we finish Brit's record. If it comes out ok then I'll release it. If it's shit then I won't. More to come on that later. Either way this will be my last show for an extended period of time. Gotta step aside and make room for the new bands in town and I want to see what else there is for life to offer me aside from what I've been doing musically from 1995 - 2010. So 11/24's set will be on the shorter side but I'd love to see some familiar faces for a bit of a send off.... until I get that itch again.

Have a good September and I'll drop y'all a note when tickets are available for the show. And maybe a link to new MP3's from these upcoming recordings.

Ok, now back to Star Wars.......

-Mark
