How long are car tires supposed to last?
you know... 'long' as in miles traveled, not years.
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

my last set lasted about 65,000 miles.
I probably should have gotten new ones a little sooner though cause they were pretty bald when I went.
i try and remember to rotate them every 8-10k miles

I got about 35000 out of my original tires, but I've been told that tires that come on new cars from a dealer are shit.

I heard the same about factory tires that come with the cars.
mine were kind of crappy and didn't last long.

It all depends on how well you take care of your tires. If you keep them rotated and properly inflated (very important),you should easily get 50,000 -
60,000 miles out of them. It also depends on what brand you buy. Stay away from the "special buy" import tires.If you don't recognize the brand
name....don't buy them.You will be lucky to get 30,000 miles out of the cheaper brand tires. Spend the extra money and get Michelin,by far the best
tires made,you will be glad you did in the long run.
By the way,I've been in the tire business for 21+ years.

Factory tires from my first lease. Front 2 replaced during third year and final year of lease. The rear where fine. I had 45,000 mile for the total
lease and I replaced the 2 around 38,000.

I've found that tires with a more aggressive tread pattern designed for performance tend to be softer and wear out way faster.
I had this one set of Yokohamas that only lasted 17,000 miles.
The last set I had were all weather tires with a standard tread pattern and they held up nicely.
Michelins are the way to go.
Watch for a sale, and never, ever go with that joke of a deal for 4 tires for $99 at pep boys
