I wrote & recorded a song today!
I wrote and recorded a song today when I got home from work. Its all live instruments (bass, drums, guitar, vocals) and I recorded it with a 4-track
aplication on my iPhone.
The song is my grindcore/death metal tribute to Richard Christy (Iced Earth, Death, Charred Walls of the Damned, Howard Stern Show) and his Dad. If
you listen to the Stern show you will get the reference in the title of the song which is, "Hey Richard this is your Dad".
It is FAR from perfect... actually its pretty bad, but I bothered to do it so I figured I would share it. You can be honest just dont be mean!
One more thing to keep in mind, I downloaded the ap today so this was my first attemp using it. The drums were done in 1 take, the bass in 2 takes,
the vocals in 3 and the guitar in 2.

you know what, if I still had equipment and an area to play around I'd be making some stuff like this.
I lack musical prowess big time but loved making stuff on a 4 track for MY amusement.
come to think of it I do have a mini amp sitting right here, so I don't know why I never plug in being I have endless free time these days

i have a bunch of old 4 track stuff i did years ago on cassettes.
how can i get these things converted to mp3s?
some of you might see this as a dumb question, but I am lost with this stuff.

well I wasnt trying to put the song down, but I'm also under no delusions that it sounds good. MAYBE its an okay song if it was recorded better, but
who knows.
I'm mainly psyched that I got it all to work using only a cell phone!! I think I'm gonna write some shorter almost Anal Cunt style songs next.

Yeah it does drag a little, but I think its more that it has no bridge part than that its actually to long.
This one is about a minute and a half, the next ones will be shorter!
