Who is a good band in Maryland

That would play a Wed with us?

We have Feb 23 booked at the Sidebar. It'd be great to play with a decent local.

I know Weds are tough no matter where, but hey it's a tour and we have to play a weekday somewhere.

Good punk/HC/oi shows coming up. Check out http://myspace.com/refuseresistband

If either or both are still playing, Dead End Boys and Baltimore Bastards would be good on the punk/oi side; I doubt both would play since they share some members. Better known bands that would be good are Iron Cross and Stout. I think Sab lives in Baltimore, but at least some of the Iron Cross guys were out of state last time I checked on the members (Shadwick lives in Kentucky but seemed happy to drive to B-more).

Danny/3rdDistrict can give some current suggestions.

If you're fine with the hardcore/metalcore stuff, try A389 (who I think is LordxDom on here).

Next Step Up, I think, is doing reunion shows in Europe, so maybe you can convince them to do a local show with you; I'm sure someone on here has contact info. Any Delaware bands could easily make the drive.

Unyoung Heroes would be cool, but I think they stopped playing a while back. I think several of those guys are in new bands, so check for those. Check the friends list on their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/theunyoungheroes

I think BD posted something about a Charm City Saints show recently, so check them, too: http://www.myspace.com/charmcitysaints

Hope that gets you started and helps a bit.

Staying away from metalcore, more punk. Yesterday's Heroes will be with us.

I want Slumords, Stout or Breakdown but have no contact info. And I am sure none of them would want to do a Wed. show.

mattybar definitely has contact info for Stout. He's booked them in London (though I got bored and left early) and, I think, put out some of their stuff on Ruktion. Since Scottie was in Slumlords and is in Stout, you can try your luck with both if mattybar helps out. Dom should be able to make contact, too. Can't help at all with Breakdown.

Dom posts here, dig up the Integrity/Haymaker thread for A389 bday bash or just go to the A389 website and email him. If you get Slumlords I might have to look at flights :P

Since he was in Slumlords with Jeff he should be able to get you in touch for Breakdown too.

3rd District will probably beat everyone to the punch.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

hey!

wednesday night in baltimore, though man though.
i guess i will answer specific bands...
baltimore bastards are kinda done, also dead end boys. Noah, in both bands, has a growing family, and is pretty much busy all the time. Also, chris from dead end boys move to NC. A lot of planning would need to be order, honestly.
I am not going to speak for jeff breakdown, but at a 100 capacity at sidebar would hamper being able to pay them. Plus getting dijan down on a weekday is prob impossible.
We have limited Stout to shows, as theyre already playing the sidebar jan 28th. Playing home every month at the same place is a thing of the past, unfortunently.
Next Step Up, it would be hard to get them again, and again much planning would be needed.
Iron Cross, the same way. And Sab has lived in bmore for a while now, yeah. (they are playing out, just out of town)

The reality of it all is $ and timing. Also the fact that the older bands will draw you 50 or so people, when a band like trapped under ice draws 300+. Trust me, i did skarhead / naysayer last month, 60 people paid.
man, i paint a bleak picture! ha

shawn, who'd you talk to? Matt at the sidebar? What i'll do is ask around for some locals, and get the word out. It'll be hit or miss, but i will try my best to help you out. Whos the other band>?

I would recommend Copstabber (my new favorite band. Ex every dc punk band), but theyre playing that friday for Scotty Powers Bar Mitzvah... yes, his bar mitzvah.

I'd suggest a Backhand reunion but I'm probably the only fan of that band haha

really, i played drums for backhand after travis
our last practice resulted in a thrown guitar, snare drum / cymbals, attempting dangling out of window (next to HR's bedroom, ahah), a swing and a miss, and a huge NEVER AGAIN
weird, we're all best friends too

want the backhand experience, go here;
http://www.myspace.com/backhand410

the breakdown thing is a pun at jeff. the regular version says New York instead of yonkers, we bust his chops.

Hey Danny, Yeah Matty is the one booking. I know it's a definite tough day. But, not every day is a weekend unfortunately. Really, any good locals who can bring their friends in and have a good time is what we are looking for. I was just throwing out names of bands I am really into, but knew would be near impossible to get, especially on a weekday.

All we want is to play a good show. :)

Seeing how we were snubbed out of our DYS chance in April in both Philly and MD, we know where we stand with the promotors out that way too. But, we have always had fun out there and want to include it in our tour. We would have included Philly too, but we just played there this weekend. (which was a ton of fun).

well the sidebar is most fitting, and will be your best option. so you did well.
i believe this guy Zack did the dys show down here, and i cant even get stout on one of his weird ass shows (he does a lot of grind / metal stuff)

i'll call matty later and we'll help you out.
and i'll help get the world out
i love the sidebar to death, but they rely on their website calender and not to much actual flyering, so I can also add it to my flyer i hand out, if you want.

that would be great.

I am also going to send tour posters to the record stores they have listed on their site, as well as copies of our first CD to just give out and try to cause a little buzz.
