Montreal?

Anyone from there or know anything about it? Might go for work at the beginning of May, and it looks like it will be cheaper to stay a few extra days thanks to a good weekly rate on a hotel that's better than paying daily rate for the time I need to be there.

Unfortunately, I'll be a month late for the Sheer Terror show if this works out.

SPOILER would know but haven't seen him post in ages. I have friends there, never been though.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Montreal is an amazing city to party in. Shitloads of cool bars and clubs. I'd avoid the big strip joints as you'll spend stupid amounts of money just to get through the door. The casino is also a pretty good place if you like to gamble. One of the main clubs for punk/hardcore is Les Foufounes Electriques. They've had every band worth seeing play there multiple times. Not the biggest club, but worth checking out. Been a few years since I've been out that way, but if you're looking to shop at all, I think Saint-Laurent is the main drag to walk along. There's also tons of bars around the Bell Centre which is the city's big arena. As for language, the vast majority of people in Montreal speak both english and french. so you shouldn't have too much of a problem. I also recommend trying out some poutine and a Montreal smoked meat sandwich.

only been there once, but it was really nice.
can't give any suggestions because it's been like 12 years, but yeah, it was a good time.
