Nerd question
Over the past few months I've been putting my cd collection onto my computer. For some reason it won't read or play certain cd's. Anybody maybe know
why? I've got a couple of favorites I really want to put on here.

Are they older/scratched/worn?
If so try setting it on a slower ripping speed for those types of cds.

They're not that old. I have no idea how one would adjust ripping speed.

Give me the lowdown on what you are ripping it with?
I prefer/reccommend Windows Media Player for ripping cds.
Usually shows the album art and get's the tracklisting correct 98% of the time give or take.
It is straight forward and simple, I set it to rip the cd at 192 bitrate.

I have the same problem. At my flat we have the computers networked so I have to give the CD to my flatmate, he rips it and transfers it to me across
the network. So far no forums, tech site or person has been able to answer why my computer won't read some CDs even though I know they are not faulty
as they work on one flatmates PCand the other ones MAC just not my bloody PC. It's very frustrating.

Windows Media Players is the best one I've used. MusicMatch just didn't work it for me and slowed my PC down while using other programs.
