I don't know, I think I'm a lot like him, I just don't get into too much current hardcore stuff. I've tried and tried to check out and get into new stuff, but it just doesn't do it for me. Not sure if it's the stuff itself or if it's just me getting old. I don't even consider the new Ramallah "hardcore" actually. I don't know what to call it. Some of it's pop-punk, some of it's almost thrash metallish (namely the title track - sounds like something Exodus would do). Some of it is just a cluster of styles. I love it.

I don't buy as many new hardcore records, but I'm still trying to buy up all the classic shit I still want and need.

Yeah, I have never been too into much hardcore. I am VERY picky with hardcore and punk, and one of the main reasons is vocals. I sing when I can (would like to start a band) and it is the vocals that sets groups apart for me. I could think a bands music sounds excelent, but if the vocals do not "please my ear", then I am not interested.

To be honest, I have only bought 3 Thorp releases (Blood for Blood Serenity, Ducky Boys, and North Side Kings - O.O.N.) and as of now, the only ones coming that I know I want to get is the new Ducky Boys (next year) and the new Ramallah.

But to be fair, I have only ever bought 2 Bridge 9 releases...... Sinners & Saints and Ramallah (What can I say? The Lind brothers can do no wrong..... though for some reason, I didn't dig Dirty Water all that much.

just take a look at the papers
your leaders
they\'re killers
they\'re liars
what they do in your
name to make the bodies pile higher
the murders, the terror
they\'ve done it forever
as we sit band and smile
at the script they sell us
but now the victims, they\'re rising
their numbers\'s multiplying
they want their revenge for the years
that they\'ve been dying

Working on it..... I have a drummer and bassist ready to go. Just no practice space or guitarist(s) yet.

haha ok D you caught me at a slow spot in the day with a Sammy light...theres WAY too many bands and labels right now...too many bands that should never have seen the light of day outside of a garage or opening for another band in a garage that are getting records put out...and I'm guilty of a few of them...but there are A LOT of really good bands right now and this list is leaving out a bunch I'm sure but here are a few really good new bands that are probably flying under alot of peoples radars...

bands to check out...
DEAD STOP-
euro band that sounds like early 80's negative approach style shit buts actually good unlike all the other bands to hear that about
IRON BOOTS-
kind of sounds exactly like warzone which is cheesy but i'd rather hear a band ripping off warzone than earth crisis
MUNICIPAL WASTE-
best album of the past forever....their new album hazardous mutation on earache is the single greatest crossover album since DRI dealing with it. Album of the year.
SLUMLORDS-
If you're not into this band you either live under a rock or just have really bad taste in music.
ANNIHILATION TIME-
older stuff sounds like b'last/black flag...new stuff sounds like black flag/thin lizzy, no im not joking...
FUCKED UP-
one of the best current bands going, total old school hardcore with a punk rock vibe (aka hooks and non boring chugga song structures)
CHEECH-
gets a bad rap because of the name....sounds like madball/blood for blood style hardcore...great songs that go from serious to fun, ngs full length has a song about guinness with JIMMY GESTAPO on vocals
BILLY CLUB SANDWICH-
NY tough guy style hardcore, one of the best right now in that vibe
H8INC-
the heir to Cold as Life's throne in Detroit. super heavy dark hardcore with a TOUCH of grind...hard and fast.
DONNYBROOK-
great LA band with a Madball District 9 vibe
LAST CALL-
Troycore lives! In Cold Blood style metallic hardcore...greatness waiting to be discovered
HAYMAKER-
Canadas answer to Bad Luck 13 without the props and metal...banned from everyplace they ever play
KNIFE FIGHT-
SFA/ Negative Approach/AF style hardcore from Cali I think, really solid songs
LACK OF INTEREST-
older band with some newer shit out, infest style fast hardcore...like strapping your brain to the tilt-a-whirl
THINK I CARE-
sounds like OLD Boston core meets Confront
RINGWORM-
probably the most underated band on earth
