He-Man

After work this morning, I picked up the Season 1 boxed set of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Anyone else here a fan of the show? I'm assuming that a few of you guys and possibly gals were kids at the same time as I was. I can't fucking wait to give the episodes and looksee I haven't seen the show in years!

What did you guys think of the movie? I thought it was pretty cool, although it did rip off star wars more then the cartoon ever did.

There are lots of homosexual referances in the show but I liked it back in the day. I had a ton of the figures, some vechicles & castle grayskull. The figures ruled! Stinkor was always my favorite. How can you not love a toy that smells like a skunk!

Loved the show as a kid. Had the toys and pajamas.

Loved my castle greyskull that had the mic.

I had castle grayskull too, and a bunch of those action figures. I really liked Thundercats growing up too, but trying to watch them now is painful. I really dont know what I liked about those shows. I mean I watch Spongebob Squarepants now as an adult and it's excellent. A little adult humor at times and the shows sorta make sense even if theyre off the wall, but He-Man and Thundercats just couldnt hold my attention again after all those years.

There was one awesome GI Joe cartoon where a few guys were 'off duty' and they were a Bazookas house. He kept getting phone calls saying "de viper is coming" and they were all paniced. It turned out that it was a window washer guy with a weird accent saying "the wiper is coming". Everyone laughed and we all learned that knowing is 1/2 the battle.

I agree with you there. I bought some stuff awhile back for my daughter. I had these memories of how great the cartoons were when i was little. I bought her Some videos that had the old carebears, smurfs, strawberry shortcake & rainbow brite. She didn't seem to care for them at all... and they kinda sucked for me.
