well like parking tickets? parking tickets and moving violations are different. I know here in phila we didn't have to list any parking tickets we got that's dumb who could keep track of that anyway. I think I did have to list the times I got pulled over but that was about it, nothing to specific, just like an "around" date and what for. I had my license suspended like 8 times before I applied to be a cop ( yea haha only cause I didn't pay the tickets) but it was no big deal. If you get specifics on what they're asking pm me and I'll try an help you out the best I can.

I've been here like 3 years and think I might have written like 3 parking tickets. PPA (PHILA PARKING AUTHORITY) are a bunch of fucking assholes. When I park downtown for court I will put a legit phila police paper in my window saying "officer at court" and still get tickets everytime. Hate those fucking guys.

truth. 96 Family troubles and nowhere to go I dropped out of college and began drinking and being really fucking destructive. I get a fulltime job and move into a freinds house for a while until I got a apartment. Anyway. I got to Windsor gamble then bring 2 12 packs of molson XXX back. I hook up with a couple frineds and we go to rehearsal space. We jam and drink. I had 9 of the XXX's myself in a 2 1/2 hour period. I get behind the wheel and take some of the guys back home and jam out the 2 new songs we recorded. As I pull out the lot I drive down a city neighborhood street. This guy remembers he forgot something so I slam my 4 cylinder stickshift Probe into reverse. I sideswipe a parked ford ranger. We go back. I remember one dude was a freaked out but the rest of use were like fuck it. We drive back down the street and I drop them off 2 towns over. Then I got ot another friends. Pick him up to go fight some fag who was talkin shit about him at a bar back in the town I hit the truck. So agfter 2 hours of kickin it we go to the bar. As I drive into downtown I am immediately cornered by police cars. I honestly forgot about what I did. Then one officer questions me. I say "No this car has not been involved in a hit and run" Another officer comes from behind him and pulls my driverside side view mirror out. It matched. It immediately hit me like a ton of bricks.
Fast forward. I get a lawyer and a considerate Judge becasue of a family friend who who has me plead
1. DUI degree : M1
amended plea date
$0 fines. costs $50.00

2. EXCESS backing deg M1
dismissed plea
$0

3. PROHIBITIONS minor under 21 deg M1
merged plea
$0

4. FAIL TO STOP AFTER ACCIDENT degree M1
no contest plea
finding guilty finding
fine $100. costs $0

5. STARTING and BACKING deg M1
no contest plea
finding Guilty finding
fines $10. costs $0.

6. PHYSICAL CONTROL degree M3
no contest plea
finding guilty
fine $200. costs $0.00

toal = $310. costs $50.00

If you can make any sense in this. I want to know what exactly I should put on all applications. It asked for anything less than $200 to be omitted. But felonies and anything else must be listed. Seriously Is this really bad to have if applying to be a Patrol Officer? No trouble since and and this was 9 years ago. Any info thanks.

Where you assigned a backround investigator? I'm not sure how they do it there but that's how we do it here. Anyway, when you said traffic tickets, I thought you meant like speeding an shit. That's just a straight up D.U.I. However, beings that they are all M1 or below, if the Cleveland departments hiring criteria state "no prior felonies" then I don't see it being to big of a problem. I mean, if someone scores the same as you, they'd probablly get the job considering the d.u.i. First I would just be honest and put on there that you were arrested for that, ( you were right?, I can't see a dui just being tickets and told to leave) Bascially, put down the date of incident, something to the degree of that you were arrested and convicted for a D.U.I W/all associated fees. Thatway, your putting down that there were more fees but not an exact amount. This to me is basically an arrest w/tickets added. So if anywhere on the application it asks about prior arrests/convictions, just put the dui and the date, that was a crime and the tickets are issued in with that crime, there not seperate like they normally would be because they happened during the commision of a crime (dui). Basically, it sucks you have a dui, but just put that under the prior arrests/convictions part because the tickets and fines fall under the largest crime as one. I don't want you to follow me exactly as I'm sure our departments are different, so if you have someone to call in the department like recruiting or backround investagations, give them a ring and explain the situation and ask them the best way to put it down. I mean the DUI is bad enough, but you'll make it look worse if you put down a bunch of shit you didn't have to. Someone reading it might be like "hmmm ok he had a dui 9 years ago and has been cool since" turn the next page and just see a shitload of numbers and tickets and that just adds to the bad impression of the dui in the first place. If it was me*, under arrests and stuff I would just put the date of the dui arrest and conviction and put "all associated fines/costs".

Thank you very much. When I get home tonight after work I will read this. I understand you are not giving positive answers, becasue it may be different among departments, cities and states. thanks for your help. I got 1 more question but i can't get to it until later. Be safe.

No problem. I didn't mean to be negative at all if I was sorry. Hey, like I said if they say no felonies, then sue em if they say it's cause of the dui.
