Those with kids old enough?

my wife and I were just talking about Christmas and how it's going to be such a blast to watch my little girl get all excited and into it, since we dont really do that ourselves too much anymore. Then we thought about the craze of "having" to have that latest toy (tickle my balls elmo) and got scared. So, my questions are these, what toy is looking like the crazy trend this year and what are your experiences with this?

I remember my mom and dad waiting in line in the snow at a toystore that was having a midnight sale so they could get me the Talking Knight Rider K.I.T.T. Car. It was pretty bad ass and I wish I still had it!

Beyond that, I remember the Cabbage Patch craze, but I dont have any kids and dont know anyone with kids old enough to have gone through this.

I haven't heard of any "trend" toy for this year. There might be one coming up soon, but I don't think theres gonna be anything as bad as the tickle me elmo and god forbid, the satanic little demon known as Furby.

The new XBOX and the PS3 and maybe the PSP. Those will probably be the big HIGH END toys this year.

ps3 wont be out in time....
bastards...

my daughter is impossible to buy for, she's like me, she has what she needs and she's happy, her grandparents are insane and want to spend like a grand on her....made her make up a lsit of shit she wants, like 4 used video games and some art stuf.....

the son is too young, so that's good this year, but the same gp's will still buy him tons of crap....

the hot toys this year are all electronic....
games, and more gmaes, mp3's players and cell phones....
I don't think there will be elmo like fad this year, but ya never know, we might get some fucked up flu going around and they might cancel x-mas
