Kosherfest

Hummus Sculpture Greets Trade Show Visitors

NEW YORK -- Who knew hummus was so versatile?

There are hundreds of Middle Eastern dishes one could prepare from the mashed chickpea spread.

Or you could sculpt with it.

At Kosherfest, a Jewish food trade show in New York, Sabra Food Products hired Kirk Rademaker to build a bust of Mayor Michael Bloomberg out of hummus.

A perfect likeness it wasn't. Rademaker lamented that he got the forehead too high.
But it was his first venture in hummus art. The San Francisco-based artist usually sculpts in sand.

If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

The word hummus is awesome.

Have you ever noticed how crayons are a lot like M&M's? All the colors tend to taste the same.

Hummus, I'll never understand the appeal of eating shit that tastes like wet sand. Tha sculpture looks like a character off the Simpsons, so that at least is worth some bonus points.

If it tastes like wet sand there's not enough garlic in it and besides, how many lebs are there in Colorado, really?

Well, its this place where nobody works, and the pigs don\'t give you any shit. Everyone smokes weed and gets drunk all day. Its a place where cunts like me and you can truly take it easy and relax. Know what I mean?

I've been convinced to choke down tons of different brands as well as home made hummus and no matter what flavor or whatever it had in it, it all tastes like wet sand. I used to work at a Kosher food store back in Austin, so it was around all the time and now at the health food store I work in, there's just as much. Fuck that shit, it's disgusting. And lebs? Is that short for Lebanese? Couldn't tell ya how many are here, but you're probably right, not a lot. Colorado is a pretty white state, at least the parts I've seen so far. Well, white and native, anyway.
