First week off work in 18 month and I'm bored.
So, if you feel so inclined ...
can you list a few of your favorite bands and records (pre-98) that i should really check out. (being 22 i'm in the major demographic for kids with no
clue about anything)
and movies ...websites .... you know ... just shit to waste time and avoid all the housework i should be doing.

What type of bands are you interested in? Give a short list of favorites or some genres you're curious about and I'll try to tell you some good shit
to check out.

madball, judge, AF, cro-mags, terror ... just stuff thats pretty heavy and kinda fast.

Hmmm, not really completely my ballpark, I like AF and Cro Mags, Judge was cool for me when I was in high school, and I hate Madball and Terror, but
I'll see what I can do.....
Definitely pick up the Breakdown '87 demo if you haven't already
You are familiar with Sheer Terror, I hope...if not, go out and grab Bulldog Edition IMMEDIATELY
Try Uppercut, Blackout recently reissued their stuff on one convenient CD

I can't recommend old midwest stuff enough, and by that I mean early eighties Ohio, Michigan, and surrounding areas....try The Necros (Conquest For
Death), The Fix (if you can actually find anything from them), Meatmen, I'm assuming you know of the greatness that is Negative Approach, maybe some
early Die Kreuzen
for something a bit different check out The Big Boys from my hometown of Austin, TX. Or for that matter, just about any old Texas hard core punk. The
Dicks, DRI, The Offenders, Really Red, Marching Plague, Dresden 45, N.O.T.A. (no, they're not from Texas, but nobody wants to claim to be from
Oklahoma), and a bunch more that aren't coming to mind at the moment. Check out the compilation called Cottage Cheese From The Lips Of Death, it has
most of these Texas bands all together on one CD.

damn man, start with australia itself. there was a hell of a punk scene there in the 70s/early 80s. get the first saints album ("i'm stranded") and
some radio birdman to start. there's also a handful of compilations that cover that era really well, best of which are the murder punk compilations

damn, I'm from Texas and most of that is still pretty steep on vinyl; especially any really red and the Dresden 45 7-inch where they ripped off the
hpd logo. There's a really cool comp called cleanse the bacteria that has mob 45, 7 seconds, and other cool older shit. Also, Welcome to Venice is
a really cool comp. with a bunch of bands from Venice beach on it. There's a band from the nineties called Battery that I think was better than most
of the "youth crew" even though it came out afterward; check out final fury by them. Also, if you are ready for a change of pace, check out the album
Spanaway by Seaweed.

Oh, no matter where you are the original vinyl is gonna be steep, but most of that stuff I mentioned has been re-released at least once and is pretty
easily available on CD.
