I'm a sucker for that movie. Plus I usually like Johny Depp but he just pisses me off in this one.

Gene Wilder was better, but the Johnny Depp one was way better than I thought it was going to be.

Man, Negative Approach wasn't in either one, what the fuck are you talking about?

I actually was pretty impressed by the new one, except for the Oompa Loompas. The new Oompas suck and I dunno who thought it was a good idea to change their songs, the new songs they sang were horrible.

You can't remake a classic.......doesent matter how much money you throw at it to make it more "spectacular" I think Depp is possibly the best actor of our time, everything he does is awesome, even 21 jump street! A great example is the revamping of horror movies, I love all of the originals with all my heart, but I'm not so purist that I cant enjoy the remakes, they are good for what they are.......remakes. I have not seen one remake yet that can compare to the original. Everyone is saying King Kong has beaten the original, but lets face it the original was puppetry at it's most basic, the new one is all green screen. The original cannot be outdone.

Ah, but are you talking about the original original Kong or the 70s remake that most people identify as the original? For me when I think of King Kong, I'm usually thinking of the 70s version just because it was the first one I saw as well as the first horror movie I ever saw on the big screen. It's a great story and I love both of those versions. I'm probably gonna go see the new one tonight, so I'll let you know if it stands up as well. I already saw that they have some kind of two or three disc DVD set of just the making of the new one with all this behind the scenes shit over at Wally World (I had to stop there on my way home from work today). It looked like they just put that out, there was no price or anything, but it looked really nice. Anybody wanna buy me a xmas present?

Back to Wonka....I should have prefaced my earlier post about being impressed by the new one to say that I was impressed because it was a remake of a classic and I didn't hate it. I tried to look at it as it's own movie and in that way, it's pretty cool. I liked that there was all the back story on Wonka that explained why he was the way he was and the fact that he was more obviously a fuckin' loon than he was in the original, but the Oompas were really hard to take and there were a few other things that bothered me too.

Ok. So i finally saw the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I though it was an okay movie. I didn't think it was as good as the first but it had some cool things about it.

Now what i wanna know is.. What the fuck was up with the scene where you saw the sheep getting it's hair cut and "willy wonka" was like "I'd rather not talk about that".
