The YANKEES starting line up $$$ (aka Damon is a yankee)

I dont really care about baseball that much, but someone showed me this and I thought it was pretty amazing. Thats a lot of money to play a 'game'.

1 - Damon 13mil
2 - Jeter 17.5mil
3 - ARod 21.5mil
4 - Sheffield 13mil
5 - Giambi 17.5mil
6 - Matsui 13mil
7 - Bernie Willams - offered arbitration
8 - Posada 10.5mil
9 - Cano 360,000k

So the starting lineup, MINUS pitchers - both starters and relivers and minus the rest of the guys on the bench costs 106+ million not counting Willams who willlikely get 4 mil or so. So like $110 million dollars just for the 8 starting position players and the DH.

is that per year or the cost of their individual contracts? i know fuckall about baseball.
and by the way, what the fuck does Cano do for that (comparatively) little money?

If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

This is why I despise most sports, well, this and the fact that most sports are boring, mind-numbing and expensive hobbies. It's even more ridiculous when the players are striking or throwing fits over wanting even more money. Grow up assholes, you make more money in a week then most people make in twenty years, and you make that for playing fuckin' GAMES. Assholes.

agreed, i gave up on pro sports long ago. it used to be fun as a kid. i loved the nba with jordan bird and johnson. now i have no idea which high school the kid came from and why he makes the amount he makes. i went back to watching college basketball and find that its still so fun to watch. same with college football. much more for me to take in than some overpaid asshole doing a stupid endzone dance or making some comment for no reason. prosports have been ruined by the almighty dollar...

It's no secret that the Yankees have bought there championships for the last decade and a half. It just goes to show, that in some cases you can throw money at the problem and it will be fixed.

Just because they are spending the money dosent mean they will win anything, just look at last season when A-Rod was supposed to return them to glory for 22 million a year. What a joke this team has become. What a joke baseball has become. If this really is the ultimate symbol of Americas pastime, then it just goes to show how wrapped up in bullshit this society has become.
