For those with x-mas trees

Which do you prefer to use, real or fake and why? Also what do you decorate with?

My wife and I got a fake one for alot of reasons, to save a tree ( I know hippie fag shit ) it's cleaner and cheaper, plus way more efficient and safe. We were married in Vegas by an Elvis impersonater and we are huge Elvis fans. So we got the most obnoxious white tree we could find and decorate with Elvis ornaments, standard lights and silver garland. This year I have added a few Navy ornaments and she likes the 50's style bobble ornaments, so we have some of those. Some year I wouldnt mind getting a real tree, I miss the pine smell, we use a Yankee candle for effect, but it's not the same.

We bougth one this year from Sears and got a very nice one that is 71/2 feet tall. The great thing is its not huge at the bottome its big but more narrow. The second thing is its got clear lights already installed so the only thing we have to do is dress it up. I think this is the way to go. I know people who still buy trees and they always bitch about taking them down and the mess they make. I have no problems with mine.

I dont have one, but Ive always liked real trees better. However I did find out that there is a 'life size' fake version of the Charlie Brown tree and that would be pretty bad ass.

i've always had real trees. when i was a kid, my dad always got the live ones with the root ball, and planted them in the yeard after christmas. this year we got a small fakre one that hangs on the wall. just no room in this apartment, especially with a kid. we also got a wreath to supply the delicious pine smell!

If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

You can buy a christmas tree and replant it? Shit how do you do that in the winter? I am planning on adding some trees to the landscaping in my back yard in a couple years. Thats not a bad idea. Is it expensive?

yeah, you can definitely do that. like i said, my dad did it for like 20 years. it's definitely more expensive, and kind of a hassle (they're heavy as hell, you're planting in the winter, and they can only be inside for a short time), but it's a great way to stretch your landscaping budget, and there is always the nostalgia factor (hang a small tag with the date).

Buy a real tree dammit! I'm from the land of Christmas trees. We even send one to Boston every year to thank for the help after our city blew up. Its a big economy up here for some folks. We usually go cut our own at a tree farm.

Well, its this place where nobody works, and the pigs don\'t give you any shit. Everyone smokes weed and gets drunk all day. Its a place where cunts like me and you can truly take it easy and relax. Know what I mean?
