Rap

I havent listened to any rap at all in quite a long time, but today I have "BACKSPIN" chanel 43 on Sirius on. Its all old school rap songs (well relativly old school at least) and they are playing a lot of good stuff. I know that lots of people have really strong feelings and thing that Rap Suck (yo yo yo... your mammas a ho... rap sucks fo sho') but what rap (if any) do you like? If you hate it all, why?

Some of the stuff they have played that I liked so far this morining...

3rd Bass
House of Pain
Young Black Teenagers
Wu Tang Clan
Dougie Fresh
Biz Markie
Slick Rick
RUN DMC
Rob Bass & DJ E-Z-Rock

Some other rap I like...

Porn Theater Ushers
Sage Francis
yukonn
Oak Loantree
NonPhropets

I am one of those haters yo. I never did like rap at all with the exception of some Cypress Hill back in the mid nineties when they were "cross-over" anbd House of Pain when they were the same. It was foolish fascination rather than a true appreciation though. I do like the first Gravediggaz album simply for the mood it sets, it's almost like the Psychobilly themed rap album. But I don't even own that, it may become the first rap album I buy. Maybe not too.

Rap gets a "No" vote from me. It all seems like dumbass posturing. Maybe HC is like that too but I just hate the whole vibe rap puts out.

I also can NOT stand people relying on a copmuter making the fucking music vs. playing instruments.

i fine myself branching out as i hear more diff. styles of music. i'm a fan of old school rap, being run dmc, beastie boys and today i like eminem, N.E.R.D., some Snoop Dogg (i think he can rap well). With "gansta rap" nowadays, I find that I love their beats while hating the rapping. 50 Cent's "In Da Club" has a fucking awesome beat, but him rapping over it makes it suck.

I'm really into Ice Cube right now for some reason... I think it's cuz I watched Boyz in the Hood a couple weeks ago...

All that old shit, from like 87-96 I can get into... the new stuff isn't really compelling. Though I still like Nas.

that 87-96 era of Hip Hop is like hardcore to me.

The PE/Anthrax "Bring the Noise" collab is gold.

For some reason the KRS shout is gold on Blood, Sweat and No Tears too.

I like old rap as much as hip hop
PE
krs-1 and bdp
ghetto boys
slick rick
nwa
and alot of political stuff
the coup and dead prez

it's station preset #2 on the sirius

I don't get into the tough guy posturing of any scene, so modern shit it just weak

the old shit is funny because they were no where near hard...
rapped about it but didn't even act it

Eazy-E was a little bitch but was funny as fuck when we rapped about putting a cap in your ass
but 50 cent acts too tough, to where it's not even fucking funny
and h needs to learn to fucking enunciate(sp?) if it's your job to talk into a mic fucking take the cock out of your mouth

oh and beasite boys best rappers ever,
they got more styles then anyone, and some of the best lines you could imagine
can get down with the party or political ends...
they never miss

FAT BOYS rocked it for old school, they rapped about food............and meant it. Also, Lords of brooklyn are pretty funny, theyre like mafia rap and they are all about "tagging" and "bombing" stuff.
