YES! The Beltones are one of the most underrated bands ever. I fuckin' love that band and so does every single person I've played 'em for. I'm still waitin' for the new record Bill's been claiming was in the works ever since he worked out the new line up. Haven't heard anything in a while though...

As for the Madball debate Honus started up there...That band is the single most overrated band in HC, ever, period.

I'm honestly surprised anybody actually likes Madball. I still have the Ball Of Destruction 7 inch, and I like it, but it's almost a novelty act and is so far removed from what they turned into that I hesitate to even call it the same band. I've never gotten the whole Thug Core thing, it's the worst aspects of gangsta rap and metallic HC combined, why does that appeal to anyone? The first time I saw Madball play live I laughed out loud. I went there hoping that they would win me back over with their live set and left feeling even more disgusted. I saw them again a year or two later and had the same experience. I guess I just don't get it.

I really like the Ball of Destrucion 7" and I like some other songs here and there, but my Madball feelings basicly follow those of the Saint. I dont feel as strong as that and I dont think they are laughable, but I just dont get how they are practicly the biggest thing in hardcore.

I never got into ThugCore on a serious level. I do like One Life Crew and a few other bands like that, but its just as much for comedic value as it is for actual music.

I never really thought of Madball as thugcore, mostly because they never took it as far as bands like Skarhead, OLC, Fury of Five, etc.

Yeah, Madball isn't so much thugcore in my mind... Skarhead is DEFINITELY thugcore and Ezec is not at all shy about saying he started that shit.

I think Madball has one of the best live shows in hardcore.

Just thought of another underrated band.... Rogue Nation. I was just listening to The Sedition tonight... great stuff. Omar X is a nice guy too.
