Sweet Misery by BORN TO LOSE is now shipping from the SGR store

BORN TO LOSE is an all-out punk-rock assault that combines beer-drenched vocals, sing-along choruses and high-voltage guitar licks to create fist-pumping anthems that make you remember why you fell in love with punk rock in the first place. They've been called everything from "Street Punk" to "Pub Rock", but one thing's for sure, no labels are gonna stop 'em from serving up their own brand of Texas flavored punk rock. The guys had been kicking around Austin and cutting their teeth in other bands for a couple years before they all eventually found their way into Born To Lose in 2000. After a few years and many beers in and around Texas, they decided to take the circus on the road. A couple records and thousands of miles later, Born To Lose is still at it, touring the good ol' U. S. of A. and eagerly anticipating pounding the pavement in support of their new release.

And just as a reminder...

1) Everyone who makes a purchase in the SGR/Thorp store in April is automatically entered into a drawing for a Duane Peters/U.S. Bombs prize pack. Click here for more info.

2) Also, The Ducky Boys and Mark Lind solo cds will be in the online store early next week. (I know, I know, I've said that before, but this time I'm sure of it! I got my copy of Mark's CD yesterday!)

Can't wait until mine gets here. Between Born To Lose, and the Ducky Boys/Mark Lind package that's coming with it I'm gonna be a happy lad.

listened to it last night on the stereo.

just got done listening to it on headphones.

i just have to say that it's nice to to listen to a single/download a bunch of fuckin' times, and then the WHOLE CD is right in line with the song that hooked you in. kinda rare these days. Ramallah and Fight Paris come to mind. the description up above is accurate as hell. consistent vibe and style. good songwriting, performances, nice solos, sounds great.

Sweet Misery is a high powered album and a breath of fresh air. good shit. can't wait to see the live show. high expectations, expectations met. like the Ramallah CD this will stand the test of time. beer soaked punk rock and roll. what else can i say?

thanks.
