new CDs I bought today

Ok... I'm not proud, but I will admit it anyway. Today I bought...

ICEPICK - Violent Epiphany
I bought it for the same reason that I've bought the last few Madball releases and the last 2 Danny Diablo CDs. I wanted to check it out to see if there were any mentions (lyrical or liner notes) about Slapshot or about Boston.

PATH OF RESISTANCE - Can't Stop the Truth
I got sucked in and bought it on an impulse when I saw it. I was psyched when the first one came out and bought it right away, but was always disapointed in it. I'm sure that this one will be a disapointment, but like I said I got sucked in.

ANIMOSITY - Empires
I heard one song from these guys on Sirius today and when I saw it at the store I grabbed it. The one song was good and the CD was $9.99 so I'm going to give it a shot. Its like a metal/deathmetal/metalcore type thing. Its on Metalblade so that should explain it somewhat.

SICK OF IT ALL - Death to Tyrants
No explination needed. I didn't even open it yet because I've had the songs on my iPod for almost 2 months, but I gotta support them & it's an amazing record!!

I like the Path record, not as good as Who Dares in my opinion... but that's 10 years of hype for you. Honus, if you don't like Who Dares Wins you're not going to be too hyped on this one. Still... legendary vegan straight edge band.

SOIA is great!

Haven't listend to the Icepick disc yet, but I got it. All of them were 10 bucks at Tower Records. So I got 3 discs for 30 instead of the 2 that I expected.

I also look forward to listening to the bonus comp disc that came with Icepick... Stigma's on there.

Path of........ is all just "STRAIGHT EDGE" VEGAN" "TOFU" "WEARING SKI MASKS ON OUR ALBUM COVERS" "A-1 steaksauce on our boca gardenburgers"

Seems Honus is a little biased when it has anything to do with Ezec. Thats fine though. But Honus you have to seriously admit that the ICEPICK cd is great. Seriously whatever opinion you have of Ezec or whatever. All that aside the cd is awsome.

The PATH cd is boring. I will probably rip it to my computer put it on my iPod and never listen to it again.

The Icepick CD is really good for what it is. Im not really big on 'thug core' and thats what that CD is to me, but it is good thug core.

Im just not a huge fan of most of what ezec has done. I never really liked Crown of Thornz. I like some Skarhead, but not enough to be a fan. I think all 3 Danny Diablo CDs are AWFUL! He has also falsey acused some people of some stuff and taken things a little to far in my opinion, but that probably goes along with the gang mentality of Hardcore that I just dont understand.

Ya those Diablo cd's do suck. Falsely accusing? Well hey. All I know is the Boston and NYC thing has always been an issue with SLAPSHOT and some NYC bands.

to almost quote Billy Joel ---- SLAPSHOT, SKARHEAD It's still HARDCORE TO ME!!!!!

Yah like the great "They threw meat at Youth of Today story" that never happened.
The song "Fuck New York" which is about the city and mentions not even ONE Hardcore band.
The "Punks Dead" shirt with Wattie in the gunscope that was made by a fan with out the bands permission.

It goes on and on....

I bought the icepick cd. I went to get the Sick Of it All cd but Best Buy didn't have it. Fuck best buy, they never get anything when it comes out. I went to the other only music store and they didn't have it either. I guess I'll have to order it online.

Icepick was $9.99 where I got it and its a double CD. The 2nd disc is a Stillborn Records comp.

Probably the same one that came with the Subzero album.

I like the Path.

Rocked Icepick at work today... which is funny because I hang wallpaper and I was in a stuffy upper-class Jewish home... I liked it. Especially "Real Recognizes Real" because let's face it... Ice T is the man and it's got literally every NYHC singer on it that matters.

SOIA is just great, hands down, awesome album. I listened to it on the way home from the record store last night and on the way to work today, real good stuff.

Na this extra cd is a new sampler. Nothing to right home about except STIGMA is on it. The Murphys LAw is from the last realese like most of the bands on it.
