Punk/Hardcore bands on TV & Movies

This is a topic Im sure has been done to death, but I just saw 2 new ones that I never saw this week.

I just saw a comercial for some new movie called "STICK IT" which I think is about a gymnastics team and one of the girls was wearing a Black Flag shirt... BUT the bars and the word FLAG were all colored in so it was a giant black rectangle that just said BLACK above it. Weird!

I was also watching Saved by the Bell on Monday and it was episode where Jessies brother (who is a thug) moves from NYC to Bayside. He decided he wanted her room so he took it over and he hung up a MISFITS poster and a MOTORHEAD poster.

PS. Yes we all know there is a BLOOD FOR BLOOD poster in the record store in 'High Fidelity' and we know that there is 2 seconds of a YOUTH OF TODAY song in 'The Girl Nextdoor'

Dude, the record store in High Fidelity is literally covered with Victory Records posters and stickers. Everywhere.

Look around in School of Rock... there's sticker all over the place in there. I have no doubt a large part of that is Jack Black's doing... that dude likes just about everything. There's a part in SoR where the fat girl is talking to Black right before the battle of the bands audition and there's a Madball sticker behind her.

In Joe's Apartment when the camera is panning over NYC at the opening credits Madball is playing.

The only sticker I noticed in High Fidelity was Hatebreed. I think my sister still has that dvd otherwise I'd watch it now. That movie makes me want to collect more vinyl.

In school of rock if you look at the blackboard for the history of rock there's mention of the replacements and dead kennedys, and I think maybe husker du and the buzzcocks.

I think I saw a FUGAZI sticker in the apartment at the end of School of Rock. There are probably a lot of bands in that part too.

DaveMoral is right about "High Fidelity". In that movie it looks like Championship Vinyl is sponsored by Victory or something! Theres also an Integrity poster thats in clear view.

Gleaming the cube is an awesome movie... It's hilarious to me that Tony Hawk made his film debut as a skateboarding Pizza Hut delivery boy...

Top of my head:

Fishbone was a bar band in the movie "Tapeheads" starring Jon Cusack and Tim Robbins.

Of course, the Cro Mags did two songs in the movie "The Beat".

Agnostic Front is spray-painted on a bridge in the movie "The Big Easy".

John Belushi refused to do the movie "Neighbors" unless Fear were in the soundtrack. Apparently, there is a scene in a kitchen and Fear are playing on the radio. I've never seen the movie so this pure hearsay. (Him and Lee Ving were buds)

Corpse is in Ace Ventura Pet Detective... Carrey actually sings on "Hammer Smashed Face" in that one. Word is he's a fan.

Also... Suicidal Tendancies' "Institutionalized" is no RepoMan AND an episode of Miami Vice... that one I learned on VH1's "IceTV" featuring Ice T and smokin' hot bimbo wife CoCo.
