An email my Economics professor sent the class today. Discuss your thoughts on this.
We are now over 55% dependent on a monthly basis for foreign investment in our US national debt. Last month alone, China and Japan loaned us over $86
billion, you may view this as an investment or as living way beyond our means. History clearly tells us that once any nation becomes dependent upon
foreign sources to finance its own government, bad things start to happen. I may be wrong, but what we are doing to putting a big "for sale" sign in
front of our nation and its political integrity. Hopefully I am wrong. Want a good boon on the subject, read Alfred Malabre's Beyond Our Means.

Way back when I was in 6th grade I remember my teacher talking about how the US was showing signs of it being and empire in decline mainly by the fact
that we were being figuratively invaded by other countries, which apparently one way to gauge an empires status. At the time Japan was making huge
investments in the US, so this news is sort of in line with what he was saying.
I remember my teacher saying that the world only had 30 years worth of oil left. We'll see how that plays out.

I'm embracing the inevitable on this one... the government sold us all out to corporate interests a long time ago... I'm curious to see what happens
under foreign domination again anyways.

what you are missing is the whole new world order way of thinking
we were sold out a long time before our parents were born
soon there will be no nationalities
just 1 world government under god($$$$$$)
the corporations will own us and the stock holders will laugh while we fight each other at the bottom for crumbs
you can try to fight to keep your identity, but what do we have... only the things that they will let us have...
we are the bottom feeders and there is no changing it
look at our current state of affairs
education sucks and is only getting worse, they are training our kids to serve...
show up, clock in and do your time...pass the test, don't ask questions, don't think, just do
crime prevention is a joke... we are only inches away from a full police state
doubt it, what's the first thing the police ask you for when you are pulled over, papers, papers please...
drugs.... well I am about to start a new thread about drugs...
work...can anyone who works full time without a degree even afford to buy a house anymore
the american dream of if you work hard you will get ahead is dead
what does it mean to be american or anything else these days
we slave we pay bills and that's it
they keep the masses distracted with american idol and crappy pop music
and the bought out the underground a long time ago...
why is it political punk/hardcore and political rap sell less then a 1/4 of the records that fashioncore band do, or pop hip hop....
the revolution will be televised and commercailzed and sold in mp3 format that we can listen to on our i-pods
there is nothing left to fight for...
the cultures we are fighting against have existed for over 2000 years, and we are only a little over 200
I just hope it happens quick and that as little innocent blood is shed as possible
becasue it will be us, the poor and working class on the front lines again
sorry for the ramble

If only what Steve said wasn't true. I have to face the facts that Canada will be dragged under the exact same way.

not just canada bro we are all going to be real friendly neighbors and follow our curfews and go to chruch on sunday
we'll still have some small freedoms like the freedome to make moeny and pay taxes
but free speech already gone unless approved by the fcc
free press long gone, bought by mega corporations
bare arms, as long as they are registered and you don't use them, (gone in most of the rest of the world as well)
the list goes on and on
and you can look at it like this
when they come for us we can stand and fight and die and hope it goes fast for our families
or we an get in line and follow, just like the germans did when the nazi's took over
and we'll say it can't be that bad what is the worst that can happen...

I've always been amused by the power of the FCC in yer country. Their original mandate was to protect radio station's signals from been pirated or
stolen. I'm amused that some group is there to protect air. It was never in their original mandate to police what goes over the airwaves.
McCarthyism in the 50's helped them gain a lot of power, in my humble opinion. McCarthy had friends ratting out friends, let alone what some faceless
dj might say over the air. The FCC got to crack down on the on-air commies.
