I made comments on my thoughts about this a few months ago in a topic I posted. http://www.thorprecords.com/boards/viewthread.php?tid=3504#p...

I also posted a lot about it on my LJ http://six66mike.livejournal.com/169261.html

I still think the war is coming, as obvious by the continually increasing rhetoric between Iran & the west.

Here's what I think based on reading this topic & what limited news has been on TV & in the papers lately:

- "Gen. Mohammad Ebrahim Dehghani also said Israel was not prepared to go war against Iran" hah. Israel has been pressuring the US to attack Iran for more than the past 5 years. PNAC has also advised as have every single major Jewish lobby group in the US that Iran needs to be "stabilised".

- Israel has every intention of expanding in the Middle East. It needs more space, especially with these farcical pullouts of Palestinian zones. Israel is extremely capable of launching a military attack on its own, as it has hundreds, if not thousands of nuclear bombs provided by the US plus a minimum $2b in aid from the US every year (i think its closer to $8b but dont remember & cant bother checking right now). Not to mention their 6 day defeat of Egypt and other small & fast wars in the area with their neighbours. The continued attacks from Hamas & other groups in Israel has also prepared them excellently for Guerilla warfare plus tactical miltary attacks. Israel is by no means a pushover & every country in the west sucks their dick big time so they will be supported by a large group of countries if war occurs.

- Iran has a lot of natural gas resources in its territory in the Caspian Sea. The US already has plans on how to take over this & the main shipping lanes in the Hormuz (I think thats the port name) to control oil flow out of the region.

- Iran is planning to start selling their oil for Euro's instead of US dollars. The new oil exchange will be active sometime this month and China, Russia & others are fine with this. However, this would strike a massive blow to the US currency & in turn its economy, so obviously Bush wants to stop the tranfser of oil being bought in Euro's instead of dollars.

- Lets take a look at the Nuclear NPT, the supposed cause for all this bullshit. India, Pakistan & Israel are not signatory to the NPT. The US has recently told India to go for it, they have no problem with them getting even more weapons even though India & Pakistan are in conflict currently over Kashmir. Two non signatory countries both currently in a war and there's a statement from the US saying go for it. Huh?!?
- The IAEA head has stated publicly that "if they wanted to, 40 countries could develop nuclear weapons". Where's the pressure on them to stop their programs? I'm sure some must be hostile.
- The US is still using depleted uranium and has tactical plans to use nuclear bunker buster bombs against Iran. The current US doctrine thanks to Bush is that nuclear weapons in combat are now considered safe & ok to use.

The EU and US have no right interfering in Iranian politics. Iran's president is already under huge pressure from the religions leaders in the country to chill out and he's only fanning the flames among the Iranian youth. There is little behind his threats because the religious leaders still control what direction the country goes in. El Baradei from the IAEA has even said that he still doesn't have enough information to know if Iran is capable and doesn't think they will be for atleast 3-5 years still.

As for everyone's favourite topic, Iran's president saying Israel needs to be wiped off the map. Well...it didn't quite happen like that. The NY Times posted his WHOLE SPEECH and the lead up to the comment goes like this:

"Our dear Imam [Khomeini] said that the occupying regime must be wiped off the map and this was a very wise statement. We cannot compromise over the issue of Palestine. Is it possible to create a new front in the heart of an old front. This would be a defeat and whoever accepts the legitimacy of this regime has in fact, signed the defeat of the Islamic world. Our dear Imam targeted the heart of the world oppressor in his struggle, meaning the occupying regime. I have no doubt that the new wave that has started in Palestine, and we witness it in the Islamic world too, will eliminate this disgraceful stain from the Islamic world.

Clearly quoting the religious leader of the country who made the statement OVER TEN YEARS AGO! They are demanding Palestinian land taken from them afer WWII be given back to their people and I see no problem with this. Israel does in fact need to be erased from our world and they can start again by letting all the refugees go back to their homes. The people of Israel can continue living wherever they choose but the idea of an Israeli state and Isaeli policies need to be eradicated.

That's all I got for now. Hope I pissed people off & hope others agreed. I'm not pro-Iran or anything but I believe every country has their rights and when whats right for everyone else isn't ok for them then something is fucked.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

If you haven't read the letter from Iran's President to Bush you should. Its too long to post here, but there is a link to the "translation" on CNN.com, it amazes me how the US press has already started misquoting it. If this goes down its gonna be bad, it is clearly driven by control of the oil and ports in the region, as Six66 said there are in the neighbourhood of 40 other countries in the same position as Iran technologically, but no-one seems to give a fuck. Why? No oil. The same reason it took the US (I want to make it clear I am not crapping on the soldiers here, I was one for 7 years) almost 7 years to involve themselves in the genocide going on in the former Yugoslavia, there was nothing there for them to exploit.

Well, its this place where nobody works, and the pigs don\'t give you any shit. Everyone smokes weed and gets drunk all day. Its a place where cunts like me and you can truly take it easy and relax. Know what I mean?

Thank you for serving. All soldiers are heros to me.
